Ari you're out of your depth here. This is not an "America" thing. It's a New York City thing and it is not easy to get a permit or purchase and own guns legally in New York City. Also Rygin King seemed to live in Florida and even if eligible, he would not have been able to get a permit not being NY/NYC resident.

Ari you’re not educated on American gun culture. More conservative states are easier if you don’t have a felony, you don’t even need a license to carry or own. In liberal states like NY, California, etc it’s like pulling wisdom teeth and even when you get the gun there are restrictions.
