I can vouch for the use of a battery tender when you are not riding. Keeps those small batteries ready to go and will live longer. I've used many brands, some just don't last as long.

I can't go with a questionable battery. I hate to be stranded because of non maintained battery. Take care!

There is a big difference between a Tender/Maintainer and a Trickle Charger. The Battery Tender brand is one of the best on the market. If you are not going to ride even for a couple of weeks it's a good idea to have it plugged in. The computer clock and accessories draw on the battery 24/7. Our Dealership here in Idaho actually installes the ring terminal fused on all bikes before they are sold. We keep ours plugged in all winter and when we are not going to ride for a few weeks.

I keep mine plugged in all winter too. I should have emphasized more how important your battery is. THANKS FOR WATCHING 👀

Thanks for this great video. If I start my Ryker for 5-10 minutes every two weeks, do I need to purchase the Battery Tender to charge the battery?

I live in Minnesota and it is hard on the battery here. If you have a heated garage or mild climate like yourself, it probably does not need to be charged. I am a fan of trickle charging and replacing your battery every couple years. I have been biking for 15 years and the most common failure of a bike is the battery. Thank You for watching.

You really should not start the engine and run it short periods of time in the off season! The only thing you achieve is condensation build up in your engine. Much better to do as adviced in this video and get a proper battery tender. They are really cheap, and it is an investment that probably will pay off simply due to increased battery life time. Also @FUN N RYKER Id agree that the ambient conditions have an effect, but even in a heated garage, the bike has some level of parasitic draw, and the battery itself discharges even if it is totally disconnected. So if not using the bike for a few months, a battery tender is still a very good idea. Anyways, keep up the good work. Great with more Ryker content on youtube! :)
