The room below is more of a stripped back, piano&acoustic version. If you're looking for him live, I HIGHLY recommend Vessel's live cover of Hallelujah. Something about the way this man performs brings all of the energy and emotion out of a song and on display, and it's beautiful to watch

You mentioned how it was such a contrast between his singing and the major cords. You said “it’s like it’s supposed to be a good thing but it’s not”, which directly goes with the meaning of the song - a love so intense you’d give your blood for it, but it still wasn’t enough, and it should have been a good thing, but the more you got into it the more you realized it wasn’t. Bravo, Vessel.

My heart truly breaks when he delivers the word "somewhere". The pain, emotion & anguish is felt throughout 🥺. I've been in that dark place, I'm sure many of us have.. including him 💔 His performance is so raw, it forces any past trauma to the surface. You don't want to go there but you end up going there anyway. I just want to reach out and hug him ❤ Vessel doesn't just sing from his heart, he sings from the depth of his soul 😢

For me it's, "Heaven just won't open up for meeee" but that first somewhere pulled tears immediately for me. At this point my marriage is falling apart again and it's a literal blood sport to keep it alive that i can't win but the heavens won't open for me because I can't walk through that door for my children's sake

Vessel does it in other songs during concerts. I saw them second time last Friday in Berlin and he gives his 1000% when singing live. Especially during Ascensionism and TMBTE his voice broke few times and he seamed to cry a bit there.. They are something else live..

they had a show that was dedicated to the “from the room below” versions, which was just piano versions of songs. and then on the deluxe version of sundowning, they had basically acoustic/piano studio versions of a few of their songs. if you want the live versions, you’re gonna have to find the actual performance that it was filmed. 🙏🏻

and you’ll really only be able to find videos that people in the audience have taken of that performance unfortunately. in those performances he did take his mask off and had it set to the side. but yes, these album FTRB is a studio version i believe.

He performed a show in Lafayette...From the room below. He performed several songs, just Vessel, his instrument of choice and the Vesselettes sang back up. But he was the only band member performing. He did a few songs with Guitar then the rest he performed with his back to the audience, mask off sitting on top of the piano. Bloodsport was his closing song in that performance and he was so emotional at the end he was literally shaking and it was noticable as he was bowing to the crowd in gratitude. It was so popular they released this "unplugged" version as a video. So, he was singing totally in this video. He's majestic. ❤ Worship ❤

His delivery of this song is among the best I’ve ever heard. These folks are modern day wizards and they’re directly manipulating our emotions with their music. It’s just so powerful. You’ve probably gotten comments for this already, but I hope you also cover their collab with Loathe (also on KZfaq) called “Is it really you?” It isn’t quite as emotional and stripped back as this but it’s a beautiful sonic journey as well.

I had to take a road trip to see family and friends this past weekend and decided to play all of Sleep Token, from EPs to TBMTE...and just fell in love. Like, I've been taking it one song at a time and obsessing over each one, but nah I just ran through em all this past weekend and now I'm so overwhelmed and just in it. As a piano player, as a writer who lost her muse/urge to write because I was stupid, as someone who gets overstimulated by other people's emotions...Sleep Token just speaks to me on every level. This is a recording of him performing it live at the Piano, it's just been "mixed" in the studio after the recording as opposed to being a purely live performance. The Room Below versions are basically the equivalent of metal bands doing acoustic covers of their own songs Worth noting they did a Room Below version of a bunch of songs and adtionally did a pure live show called "The Room Below" which was Vessel, a piano and the backup singers performing the Room Below versions of songs live

I believe that the main difference between this version and the album version, apart from the obvious stripped back acoustic sound, is the tempo on this version is slightly slower. Giving it a more emotional feel from the off. Stay safe 🤘 ✌️

This man knows how to feel and how to translate that in his work. When I heard this version, it just melted my heart and tore my soul, it just makes you really look back at many instances in life or what you have been through. Sleep Token has really opened up something inside me, that makes me love their music and style but the way it always makes me feel alive and broken in the best ways and I’m 100% okay with it #Worship

Vessel is incredible in every way. There's a KZfaq video, recorded on a cell phone of this song live. He has his mask off, he's facing away from the crowd. You can hear him sobbing, and struggling to make it through the song but he belts it out. This song is the one that makes him the most vulnerable, and emotional. Check it out.

I think the main difference I hear is that it is slightly slower than the studio version. The songs from the room below were part of the deluxe version of Sundowning, so it is recorded, but it definitely is different and more in the feels.

Stayed up waiting for this to drop… glad I was right that it dropped today. ☺️ I remember someone (I think it was The Lone Rager) saying that Vessel just has this way of reaching into your soul and pulling out these visceral reactions to his music, whether you wanted to have them or not, and bringing feelings to the surface-especially ones you didn’t realize were there. What’s what their music has done for me. And there are some heavy tracks in This Place Will Become Your Tomb where this comes out-particularly Atlantic and Fall For Me (there is no way to be prepared for the Fall For Me video, it will gut punch you). Honestly, the bonus tracks are kind of meh. If you want to keep the momentum, go straight into TPWBYT and circle back to the bonus tracks at a later time. Either way, great video, and now hopefully you won’t get nonstop “wHiCh VeRsIoN oF bLoOd SpOrT WiLl YoU dO” comments 😅

It’s more stripped down, no guitar, drums, or bass, just intimacy with Vessell, his vocals and that piano…. The room below was a live concert where Sleep Token did some live covers of Whitney Houston, Billie Eilish, OutKast, Leonard Cohen, and played stripped back versions of their songs from the One and Two LP’s as well as select songs from Sundowning. It's for sure a rerecording, this version is obviously stripped back allowing the emotion in the vocal performance and lyrics to take center stage, but it's also slower than the original. It's just by a little, but if you listen to them back to back it stands out. The slower pace of this version gives it more space and amplifies the lyrics and vocal performance even more. I think this is the superior version as well.

Sleep token is amazing and this song is intense which reminds me a lot of disappear by starset which I think should react to. Sometimes these intensely emotional melodic songs a lot of people actually tend to avoid rather than facing the emotion’s of seeing & hearing. This is like that. Which is why people like me enjoy the reaction’s because I need to know that other’s are feeling that rawness and the depth of the journey.
