DNA is over rated, my mum always says it's not being blood related that matters, it's love. I lost my step dad on Christmas Eve and the loss of the man who loved us more than anything in the world was so huge. He was in our eyes our dad. We were lucky to have a dad for nearly 30 years step in when our real dad thankfully fucked off!

That’s how you feel, but other people feel differently. He’s being honest about his feelings, so that should be respected. Adoption isn’t something everyone can easily handle, even I feel like I wouldn’t be so sure if I’m up for such a huge responsibility. I would feel the same way as Ryland. He doesn’t have to decide right away either. He has time to think things through.

these comments are so annoying. Being in a gay relationship does not mean that you instantly accept the fact that you can't have kids. Ryland isn't being selfish just because he wants his kid to be biologically his, and although adoption is a great alternative, they should do whatever they feel is best for their future family.

Ryland, I promise it won’t make a difference who your baby is technically related to. Once you see that baby, you will be SO in love. You will love them and they will love you the same, no matter how they come into the world.

A common misconception for people who have never adopted is to feel like the child won't genuinely be "theirs". I guarantee that feeling goes away once you adopt a child and they become a part of your family. There are plenty of biological mothers and fathers who don't feel a connection to their children. Having a surrogate is a perfectly good option for starting a family, I just wished people didn't look at adoption as a last resort option.

I'm adopted from Russia and it's a beautiful thing! I've had my issues coping with being in an orphanage but I've got a great support system and family I wouldn't trade for the universe. Surrogacy, adoption, fostering! So long as your little ones are full of good, full of love and warm you're going to be the best fathers ever ❤️

I was adopted when I was 2 Years old, and I can say without a doubt that my mom is my mom. Yes another woman gave birth to me, but My mom is the one who was always there for every tummy ache, late night, dance recital, heartbreak and victory, It doesn't matter if your kid comes from your genes it matters if they come from your heart, and as long as you give them a good life with lots of love they will.

I know this was made two years ago, but if you guys are still thinking of ways to have a baby, keep this in mind: I can't imagine how distressful it would be for Morgan to carry a baby and then give it away, even if they are her niece/nephew. All women have different experiences, of course, but either way, your body goes through a lot emotionally while being pregnant. It goes further than the act of being pregnant or childbirth. Having a baby can change a lot in your brain, both biologically and chemically. So thinking of an alternative way would be really awesome. There are ways to adopt kids who are most biologically, similar to both of you! I knew someone who is friends with my mom; she and her husband couldn't conceive, so they adopted a baby that was most biologically similar to both of them. It's nice too because you're saving a baby's life who could've had it way worse without you. Adopted or not, your children are your children, and it's a love like no other. Best of luck and sending you both so much love on this journey.

As a kid who was adopted I can honestly say genetics don't make a family, love does - I am constantly told how alike my dad and I are and we have so many of the same personality traits people don't even realize I'm adopted 🤷🏽♀️ love makes a family

Exactly. The most important family member apart from my mother and brother was my grandfather. He was only relation by marriage. As my brother grew up (remember no blood relation), people would always say how much he looked like my grandfather and how he took right after him. My brother idolized him. No one ever corrected people who said that, because in our hearts, he was our family and we loved him.

this. my mum told me that some of my cousins are adopted and i don't even realise it. one of them, a girl, looks exactly like me when i was in her age. god or universe have a funny way of molding us into someone who raise us up, whether we have the same genetic or not.

I think one of the things Morgan doesn't realize is that after a baby is born it's like you just kind of become emotionally attached to it that doesn't happen all the time but it's pretty common

You guys should just adopt so it's neither of yours biologically. You should talk to Blue and Matt about it. Many people have similar fears you do Ryland, but once they adopt the child those go away.

Adoption is not only easier but it actually allows an abandoned child (orphaned, abused, etc.) the chance to feel loved and have a family environment.
