Absolutely great video...had all the symptoms this was my issue... followed every step although I didn't want to wait the extra days to get the acid... carb cleaner did the trick...Half an hour later running like brand new... Thanks again for a great video...

great info, I checked the big online retailer and for about $16 you get new carb, gaskets and air filter and spark plug. I don't know how they do it. I cleaned the old one and kept for spare. thanks for video.

Great video but I cheated for $22 and bought a new carb and replaced it in 10 minutes and it runs like new. I watched to see how spring, choke throttle linkages were reconnected Thanks!

check spark. check compression. is spark plug wet? if you spray carb cleaner in the carb does it start and shut back off? did you clean tank and use brand new bought today gas?

How i fix the metal that we need to pull the choke ? Mine don’t stop in position when pull it You know the little ring that we need to pull to start the choke Let me know how stop or what is the carburetor model Thanks

the stops are built into the carb. if the ring moves free and doesnt stay in position then you probably need a new carb. amzn.to/3uvipaN

If the carburator gasket is worn out, torn, or whatever, can you get away w/ carefully using a light amount of liquid gasket maker that you'd use for an engine oil pan on a car? I'd assume getting a replacement gasket in store would be hard to find in-store.

Silicon and gas dont mix. Use shelac from auto parts store. Ill wipe it on a carb put carb on beer box when you pull it off the box it shows your gasket shape. Carve it out with razor boom gasket. But if old gasket is just torn shelac it. When you bolt down carb it will seal

@@smallengineguys My mistake, I meant to ask about the float bowl gasket/o-ring. Even for the carburator gasket with this method, wont the shellac give out after awhile from getting wet and soggy from the gas, and give out sooner or later? Since gas is a solvent. Or do u apply two coats before putting the cardboard on?

@@selwyn13 it hardens perfectly. As far as the float bowl i am sorry you have to order it . Ive manged to do it with cardboard but the gasket literally will arrive before you get it right

@@smallengineguys Your good. I was just giving some positive criticism. Do you know whats another alternative to that 14 karot Gold testing acid? Could we get away w/ using WD-40? Since we are rinsing the whole thing down with carb cleaner, oily residue shouldn't be an issue. Right?

@@selwyn13 you can use wd40 although unnecessary when using carb cleaner. Pull one wire from a wire wheel and poke the jets i used acid on then rinse with carb or brake cleaner.

I would assume the carb cleaner is wayyy less aggressive, so should I let the main jet's screw soak for like 30 minutes or an hour. Or am I really overthinking it?

way over thinking it. watch the video clean those sections till they spray threw well put together.
