Got this couple years ago and it was drastically superior 2 previous two ryobi models i owned. I think the headlights they could had switch to turn it on and off. I like ryobi is improving their lawn mowers and i am looking forward to next purchase if i ever get another one. The big battery for this was better two as older ones that smaller batteries wouldn't last too long, Luckly we had other ryobi products so we had backups. The bigger battery for the lawn mower made it easier too, i still had to purchase a second one as now and again grass can get too thick in front and back yard to cause extra work.

@reaperreaper5098 3 жыл бұрын
@@RichieColemanSr I know this is 8 months old, but I've been testing the 60v Toro 22" Recycler against the Ego Select Cut XP. No real difference in speed, cut quality at lower settings, or mulching/bagging performance. The Ego's got bigger batteries available to it, and comes with the biggest battery available, only meaningful advantages. Whereas the Toro is less expensive, has better suction, cuts better at higher settings, better handlebar ergonomics. The Ego is also too light for self propelled to be worth while. I've got a somewhat bumpy yard, and using self propelled just makes the mower bounce. The button is also in a bad location for ergonomics, and the whole handlebar kinda sucks.

Had me frustrated so hopefully ot helps anyone else who thinks the mower is not functioning correctly.

I've had my RY40109 for a year and a half now, and other than being dusty (from being stored in the garage), with a bit of grass debris here and there, it looks brand new. I have roughly 1/3 an acre of land that I mow, and it powers through +6" grass (when we have an extended period of rain, the grass grows like crazy) without any issue. I use a single 5Ah and 4Ah battery, along with the 40v trimmer, and usually still have a bar (or two) left on the batteries when I'm done. I was going to buy the Ego mower first, but Home Depot was out (even though inventory showed three). I am not disappointed in the RY40109 at all... :)

I just purchased the push version of this at Home Depot tonight, the battery is huge, like my Johnson, but like 723 other posted comments on Google and KZfaq, the new version also stops after about 1-2 minutes and has to be started again. It is well documented about extending the handle and making sure the bag or mulcher are set properly but that is way too many complaints. Im returning mine tomorrow. I wanted so bad for this one to work because the battery alone I could use on my 3 other Ryobi products but the Monkey fix or workaround is ridiculous so returning and now will chop at Harbout freight since the HD Ryobi rep said they never heard of the over 700 complaints regarding sudden stops.

Don’t discount the usefulness of the self-propelled option for anyone who is older or is facing some physical challenges or just doesn’t want to shove a mower through his lawn all day. No matter how light the push version is, the self-propelled version is easier to use. If you can afford the $100 price difference, do it. Smartest decision I ever made.

10:05 The text you put on screen says "Only real difference is the battery storage area" I have to strongly disagree. The new mower is 20% wider which means you can cut your grass 20% faster leaving you with more time to do other things, or just relax. Having said that, I have a Toro Timemaster lawnmower which is 30 inches wide, 50% wider than the new Ryobi lawnmower, and nearly double the width of your older one. Of course it does come with a hefty price tag to boot, but then again, time IS money. You can probably buy both of these Ryobi mowers for the $1200 I spent on my Toro, and still have enough left to buy pizza for your family's dinner. I'm not even going to talk about power because it's not fair to pit a gas mower against a battery powered mower in that category.

So let me understand this and tell me if I am saying this wrong. Do you like the older model because it looks cooler even though the new model performs better has a better battery and you could put a 7 1/2 Amp better in there. So I guess the performance doesn’t count? It’s not a sports car. LOL.And I never seen those lawnmowers for 200 bucks. Show me and I will buy it never seen them for 200 not 280 or 249 200

I got mine on clearance. I don't need to put a 6ah HP or 7ah HP battery to do my lawn. if you watched the entire video you would know what I said, if you already own the older model and it is working great there is no need to upgrade to the new model, only difference is you can use bigger batteries. id rather just buy another battery for $120 instead of spending $300 for a new lawnmower
