I just bought the Ryobi corded drill with the wooden door Trimmer for my Steve's 6 panel Hollow Door and it worked absolutely AMAZING and literally trimmed the door like butter. *I HIGHLY RECOMMEND.*

For about $15 more you could buy a power planer at Harbor Freight.

Sounds like a great product, although I wish your video showed closeups of the tool, the bit and how it removes the excess layer

Great video. I just bought this. I have a bathroom door that in the humid moths won’t even close. The bottom 1/3 to 1/2 of the door overlaps the door jamb. I’m not sure if this will hit the floor before the cutter makes it to the bottom or not. (In other words the distance from the front of the tool to the cutter may be greater than the distance from the bottom of the door to the floor, so the floor may stop me from going down all of the way). I’m hoping this keeps me from having to take the door off.

Jeez, I did not know something like this existed. Was trying to utilize sandpaper (pain in the butt, with a sanding block). Just happened to “Google” something to that affect and it came up with this. So off the YT to see it and saw your video. I will be hitting up my local Home Depot tomorrow to pick one up..

I'm thinking about getting this. I'm an apartment maintenance tech and I'm always working on doors. Getting tired of constantly aligning doors. It gets old after a while. This looks like it would offer a great solution

Does this create a lot of wood dust,I have electronics in that room and wondering if I should cover them,also does this trim doors that are painted?? Thx you.
@livefreeandtoolon3 жыл бұрын
Yes it will shave painted doors, and it does create dust but not much as it collects inside the tool

How can I replace the drill bit?
@peterbarlow891210 ай бұрын
If is like their lock set jig it’s flimsy. Also it looks like it’s going to grind off the edge bevel (2-3 degrees) door slabs come with. The stop side needs the bevel so the door corner doesn’t scrub the buck on opening. Really need a planer with a bevel in the fence. Stanley used to make a long jointer plane with a helical cutter and adjustable fence.

Better than just sanding?

Looks like a good quick solution for wood doors, but what about steel doors, and those that drag on the bottom??
@livefreeandtoolon3 жыл бұрын
depending on the door they can be shaved with a grinder or frame and hinge adjustment
@josephlowrance33 жыл бұрын
You should never grind down a steel door. If you have an issue it’s always with the jamb with a steel door.

will this work on the bottom of a door without removing the door? bottom of door swings freely over the wooden floor but rubs along the rug
@speye52753 жыл бұрын
Yes, just lower your floors.

Can this be used to cut the spots for a door hinge?
@livefreeandtoolon3 жыл бұрын
I don't think so, you will need the hinge router template or chisel with skilled hands. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/hJplm62hy5ytZ2g.html Check out this video it may help

What does "scrub" mean. Is that a local slang for rub? Definitely first time I've heard that word used like that.
@spikefivefivefive2 жыл бұрын
Maybe it came from the word "scrape" at some point. I have never heard it used that way either. Maybe a regional thing?
@tony2hotty2 жыл бұрын
It's scrape and rub mixed together
@anthonysandoval9652 жыл бұрын
