I have had this pump for 3 years or so. It works very well for a rain barrel. It is a bit loud. The thread connectors are plastic, which could be a problem. I put a plastic shutoff valve ($1 at dollar store) on the plastic threads. If that gets stripped out I don't care so much. You can even put metal shutoffs on it. The hose that comes with it is a bit stiff. Run some hot water through it or set it out in the sun. I used all the oil that came with it. Called ryobi and they told me that vegetable oil is fine to use. Definitely a few mods that I would do if I bought another one, but I do reccomend. Works great for watering the garden from a rain barrel.

I just bought this and used it for the first time yesterday. We are at a campground with no sewer, just a dump spot several hundred feet away from the camper. I put a 30 gallon storage bin on my truck tailgate, put a 5 gallon Home Depot bucket underneath the gray tank water outlet, put the Ryobi hose with the black attachment in the bottom of the bucker, and then opened my gray tank valve. Once I got about 4 gallons in the bucket, I closed the valve and turned on the Ryobi. I had attached a section of hose to the outlet and put it in the storage bin on the tailgate. It sucked the 4 gallons or so out so easily. I reopened the gray tank valve and repeated the process over and over until the storage bin was nearly full. I then took the Ryobi and hoses and carefully drove to the dump. I put the inlet hose and black attachment into the storage bin, the outlet hose into the dump hole, and turned on the pump. Wow! It was so easy to do to get that gray water out of the rv. Much easier than trying to deal with the blue boy type of tank on wheels. Love this Ryobi Transfer Pump!! Good job on the video.

Home Depot has none in stores or on line. Where did you buy yours if I might ask.

I found mine at the HD in Wilmer, MN. They have 3 more too. HD in St. Cloud, MN shows to have some in stock.

We got it at a local Home Depot here in Florida (which appears to be out now). But others in our area show they have a few. Great demonstration,thanks for sharing. It needs the ability to be turned on or off with a hand held switch or to stop the pumping by releasing a nozzle, like the way that pressure washers or camping showers work . I love that its a hybrid and uses both AC or battery power . Do you think the batteries could be recharged with solar panels?

Can we add a video on Ryobi 1800 battery inverter with parallel cable to connected to gas inverter explain operation and out put. Maybe another video with 2 battery inverter with parallel cable.

Awesome tool and I want one. They are $175 at Amazon but only $108 at Home Depot but they have none in stock either at the store or on line. Great video though

The connector type is an "XLR" which is usually seen on pro audio gear like microphones, outboard rack components, lighting, etc. The locking/latching function provides additional protection from accidental disconnects ~

As someone who works with audio (like you, I assume), I find it incredibly strange that they used an XLR-type of connector. There are some on the audio side that don't have latching at all.

Though it looks to be XLR, remember that lighting guys also use DMX cables that look identical to XLR’s.

I’ve used this and while it did the job the plastic threads scare me. Returned it and getting the Milwaukee instead

Mine has stopped sucking up water after about an hour of use. I am draining my crawlspace which flooded from a broken water pipe. Do you have any troubleshooting tips for this product? I just picked mine up today. I’m going to be calling customer service tomorrow.

Yeah it is probably a little louder than most but not by much. The exception would be submersible pumps that are muffled more because they are under the water.

Mine works ok, for getting my pool drained/siphoned, but it is ridiculously loud. Like, horrible. Is this the norm? I'd never use this at a campground...i'd be banned!

I've had mine 4 years. Noisy for so small. Don't expect much lift ability. Keep the outlet hose short. Roybi box information has this way overrated. I've found the best use for me is water transfer from bucket with spicket, placed on tailgate of truck to camper water tank.

The threads on the pump are very flimsy, very, very easy to crossthread :( , the oil provided does no have any information to tell you what type of oil it is. I am about to return it to the vendor.

pricey, for the money I'd just get one the $10 drill based gadgets, same impeller size

Completely understandable. As cool as the hybrid tools are, they can be 10x more expensive than alternatives. That’s a perfect example. The hybrid drum fan is another.

I use mine for engine oil, DEF, diesel, coolant, etc. It works pretty well.

Holds massive power supply - doesn't understand why the power supply isn't integral with the pump so that it can use wall plug. :| I mean, after watching a few of this guy's videos, I'm not at all surprised that he doesn't understand how things work.
