Thank you so much for posting this video. Your instructions were clear and worked perfectly for me. The button from my trip odometer snapped off and was rattling around in my instrument panel. It was driving me crazy. I followed your instructions, removed the instrument panel, took out the broken button, and the rattle went away. I appreciate you showing me how to remove the panel and save my sanity.

Thanks for all of the videos. I have a 2007 Xterra that I bought new. It has 190,000 miles. Over the yearsI have had to do most of the things that you have made videos for. In my opinion, by far the most difficult is the radiator. Total pain. Did it at 60,00 miles to avoid the transmission mixing problem, and then again recently due to a small leak. Thanks!!

Great video lines up exactly for an 08 nissan frontier. Read the manual and tpms sensor doesn't sync until going 20 mph, and also states unable to detect a flat.

this is awesome, thank you so much! trying to decide if i want go through this to put tape over my TPMS light haha. i have the blinking-to-solid going on now so they need replaced and i want to have regular rubber stems if i'm going into the tires. i air down and up 1-3x a week so i really have no need for TPMS since i'm checking my pressures constantly. this is of course unless you know something i can unplug or tell it to stop worrying about it and get the light off haha. either way, thanks again for the vid.

Well done. Saved me a lot of time today but still took me a while. It’s quite tricky process to get the cluster out unlike done cars eg a Toyota I did once was I clipping a cover then 4 screws. Simple So thx for posting I’m in Australia so these are called Nissan Navara over here (the wagon version is called a Pathfinder)

If you are driving and your O/D off light randomly comes on it's more than likely the instrument cluster. Especially if you can turn it on and off with no issue using the button on the gear shift. Another way to tell is to smack the top of the dash above the light and if it comes on and off that way it's definitely the cluster.

Hey Ry, is the glass (or clear plastic) that covers the instrument cluster removable? I was cleaning it and accidentally broke the long push button for resetting the trip meter. The piece that snapped off is now rolling around inside my instrument cluster, behind the clear plastic, and it's driving me insane. I have to get it out of there!

You don't actually have to remove any of the center section of the dash actually. There are no fasteners hidden behind it that need to be removed in order to access the instrument cluster. Great video otherwise and very helpful.

Good day.. I would like to ask if the mileage in the cluster will stay with it if you replace it with a new one... My current xterras cluster is not lighting and rpm and speedometer needle is not working.. Id like to replace it with a new one but worried if the odometer will be at zero and i dont want to break laws.. Thanks

Have you ever seen a problem with the cluster needles not working? they do on test mode but not when car is running, but lights do work in the cluster

Great Video, sadly did not work for me. Tried it three times. When I turn my X on it flashes for a while and then goes solid. Did the same after procedure each time, solid before I could get out of the parking lot. Maybe I need new sensors. Is that something I could do myself? Have spent many hours watching your videos and just subscribed. Have been in the market to buy a new car. My '06 X with 139K is my main squeeze (we also have a car and a truck) but has check engine light that 2 separate mechanics can't figure out. After watching you for a couple of hours straight I am re-excited about the X and am going to keep her (Her name is Ruby). Will take the money that I was going to spend on a new car and keep trying to isolate problem. I

Is it possible to open it up and fix the little stick button to change the trip mileage trackers and rotate for brightness? while I was wiping spraying and cleaning up the car I hit the stick and of course broke it right off and it fell inside behind the plastic in the instrument cluster ughhh now I use an allen wrench to press it lol

Question, behind the cluster @ 6:33 is that the backup buzzer mounted on the upper dash area? I've got to replace one on my Frontier and looking for its location this video helps me disassemble to get to it if so. Thanks.

What year is the Xterra you're working on? I have a 2004. I need to take out the cluster. The speedometer stops working and when you hit about 2500 RPM, it hesitates like it's out of gas. Hitting the dashboard or cluster with your hand usually make it work. There must be a loose connection somewhere related to the cluster.

Nice! 6-speed manual Xterra with Crank windows! I have a 2000 Xterra and a 2007 Pathfinder.. the Pathfinder already had the "Strawberry milk shake of death" issue, now it has the whining noise at 170k ( think its the timing chains llke you did on yours.

Do you have any experience troubleshooting immobilizer issues coupled with gauge cluster failures (intermittent) and a non start? My 05 pathfinder will start randomly, and when running tachometer will fail and come back on, as well as other gauges. Can't figure out yet if this is simple a.cluster issue. Would a failing gauge cluster cause an immobilizer problem?
