ASTON VILLA 1-3 NEWCASTLE UNITED 👉🏽 Not the greatest of results for my Aston Villa fan Mum 😬 But with that said, personally I had a good time at Villa Park as both sets of fans were class and fully behind their teams! Pre-match build up at Villa Park was quality and for me, one of the best in the Premier League with pyro, smoke, fireworks and banging tunes as always! 👏🏼 Even though I'm not a "Villa Fan" you guys know how much love I've got for the club and it played a big part in my childhood growing up with family from Aston, Birmingham... I went for the Glory as my dad took me to United and growing up in the 90s it was easy to be swayed as a kid to watch Beckham, Giggs, Scholes, etc... My first game was 1971 I was 10yrs old I was taken to a Sunderland game at Roker Park and I hated it, the following week against my families wishes I went to watch Newcastle and I felt the magic I didn't get at the other place. I'm from Peterlee County Durham. Life long magpie now and so are my sons and daughters. Yeah up the Villa she's a lovely lady but I'll keep my stripes.

My first game was 1974 at Newcastle and I was 9.. Texaco cup final no less :) Your mum doesn't look 57. Very happy and surprised with the result, didn't think we'd beat you. Good luck Villa for the rest of the season.

1st ever game - Newcastle game - also in 1975 (same as your mum). NUFC 2 arsenal 0. I’m with you on how the first game can get you!! On that note - Google the great Bobby Robson quote (what is a football club in any case). That will resonate with you and your mum, as it did me. Respect.

The ball on behind Villa was on every time we turned the Villa team . Great to see your relationship with your mam at football 👏🏻 I’m happy for villa this year up amongst European places and chasing top 4 . I want to see teams like Newcastle and Villa upsetting the usual natural order to the premier league .

Ahh Steve yes I remember hearing about the A V - we normally go that way, where you see Villa Park in the distance but the motorway was rammed at Rush Hour so we went through Birmingham which was surprisingly quieter... NEVER TOO OLD TO LOVE FOOTY STICKERS!

Enjoyed ye video as I did when you did our stadium tour at St.James’ Park. My first ever game was a quiet affair, age 10, 1974 v Nottingham Forest 6th round FA cup. If you don’t know about it, it was voided by the FA because of a pitch invasion. (Can still be found on KZfaq). Disappointed with ye mam, who seems like a lovely woman, for allowing you to switch allegiance. I would’ve chucked you in the River Tyne if you’d been mine😂😂😂 p.s I’ve subscribed 👍

Hahaha legend! My old man took us to both Hereford (local club who I’m sure you’re familiar with…) and Man Utd so I just went with the huge tidal wind that was Fergie’s 90s Utd… was only 6 so still learning about life 🤣

Aston Villa were 5-1 up at half time in that game in 1976. It was a midweek game and definitely a shock to me. 😳

I loved how, although there were "big teams" back then - it seemed as though the title was there for the taking... look at 81, if Villa hadn't won it, a good Ipswich side under Bobby would have. I know we had Leicester in 2016 but I wish the Premier league was a lot more open

Like vote already in for reminding of going to games with my Mam through the dark days and how she just missed my first trip to Villa Park five month later in 93 (sat just below where you are) and that was before the fair away fan comments in defeat. There's bad games/defeats even in seasons that turn out good (see the same fixture last season)

Great result 😂😂😂 lived on trinity Rd as a kid. Went to villa blues and west brom and thought blues had the best fans but worst football. Left brum 30 years ago but go back alot. Been to 3 games this season under 3 different managers 😂

Been to Villa Park twice. Fantastic Stadium. Had David Platt, Tony Daley in the 1990's. Massive Club. PS. Did your Mum steal back Jack Grealish, when you went to the Etihad Stadium.
