RYU speedrun NEW World Record on HARDEST - 8m25s - www.speedrun.com/sf2hf?h=Arca...
I also have the world record with KEN on HARDEST (7m41s) - • KEN Speedrun NEW World...
Please comment and like, it helps A LOT. Thank you for watching!
Overall a decent Ryu run on the hardest difficulty. Blanka fight was shit and a couple of other average rounds in there. The run could be improved by about 20-30 seconds, a sub 8 time should be possible, but I didn't want to spend more time on it. I will do the run again if anybody beats this time. My goal was to get a sub 9 time for now.
I'm using the Qanba Obsidian fightstick.

*Q: Why is the game running so fast?* A: This is how it runs on MAME and only MAME is accepted on speedrun.com *Q: Why are some names different? M.Bison is Vega, etc... ? Why am I speedrunning the Japanese version?* A: This is the original Japanese version and these are the original names the game was designed with. Detailed explanation available on en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M._Bison - check the paragraph "Conception and development". A: The cutscene between fights happens faster on the Japanese version and the speedruns can be 15-20 seconds faster than the US version. I also have the official WORLD RECORD with KEN on HARDEST difficulty (7m41s) - kzfaq.info/get/bejne/n513epupp5qXhY0.html Please comment and like, it helps A LOT. Thank you for watching!

The whiff hp dp to throw bison in the corner to end the run was hilariously awesome! GGS!

Yea, it's probably one of the best strats to be fast and get consistent damage with Ryu versus Dictator. Sucks I wasn't able to pull it off first round and lost a lot of time, but it is what it is. Thanks for watching and commenting!

The fact that the game speed is so fast that Sagat just says UPPERCUT is hilarious for some reason

Perfect stage Zanguief, Dhalsim, Ryu and M.Bison stage, amazing! Double perfect Honda, Chun-li and Balgrog stage, very impressive!! I can't imagine the feeling just to loose 1 round 😅

A joy to watch, mate. The ken world record was very impressive too. Must irritate you when the computer gets a cheap one in, you must always be thinking you could shave off another second or two. Bloody fast inputs. I noticed with the last jumping punch on sagat it made the sound for a light or medium, but you pressed heavy. Wonder what causes that.
@deviouxFGC
@deviouxFGC Ай бұрын
Yea, there will always be seconds to shave off, the CPU will make sure of it some way or another. The jumping punch sound is different when you jump straight up from when you jump forward or backward. It does sound a bit similar to the medium one. You can see for example vs Zangief, I'm jumping straight up and pressing heavy punch and it sounds the same as versus Sagat. Thanks for watching and commenting!

I like to try to 1CC no rounds clear this and Super Turbo so alot of the work on the stats for the cpu here were absolutely beautiful! I usually job to Dictator since I never know about the shoryu whiff punish in the corner! This definitely deserves more views for the work put in!

I think Super Turbo is harder than this game, not sure if any of these strats would still work, but I'm glad you enjoyed the run and found things you can use yourself. Thank you for watching and commenting!

How do you do the cross over on Honda without getting hit he always hits me
@deviouxFGC
@deviouxFGC 5 ай бұрын
You just have to time that. It also helps if Honda is first and I prefer to start crouched, it kind of makes him walk forward and then you can time the jump. I've also failed quite a few times, so what you see here is just one successful attempt, you don't see the other failed attempts where he does hit me or do other stuff to mess it up ;) Thanks for watching and commenting!

How do you make the Standing Punch + Shoryuken combo? Every time I try to perform it, my Standing Punch ends up becoming a grab.
@deviouxFGC
@deviouxFGC 2 ай бұрын
If it becomes a grab, that means you are pressing forward before or at the same time you press punch first time. You must press punch alone and after that you start inputting the motion for the Shoryuken. Press punch (no direction inputs) > release punch > start inputting Shoryuken (and it must be done rather quickly). What controller are you using? Stick, pad, hitbox?

@@deviouxFGC I can do it easily. Maybe fail a time or two, but generally I can do it easy.
@deviouxFGC
@deviouxFGC 2 ай бұрын
@@ImpulsoCreativo9322 Cool, then you just need to be careful to not hold forward or input forward when you press the first punch. Press punch (don't hold forward, don't touch forward) > release punch > start inputting Shoryuken. Another way to do it is with negative edge, this is a bit more "advanced", but with practice it can become easy. You do it like this: Press punch (don't hold forward, don't touch forward) > keep holding punch pressed > input Shoryuken motion on joystick without pressing any punch > release punch (if you do it fast enough, you will get the combo).

Are you doing something for Super Turbo? CPU is significantly harder....
@deviouxFGC
@deviouxFGC 2 ай бұрын
I was going to do some Super Turbo runs, but SF6 came out and it made me change my mind. I'll be sticking to SF6 for a while, since I have very little time to allocate to gaming. And yes, Super Turbo is definitely the hardest out of all the SF2 versions, which is why the leaderboard on speedrun.com for ST is very thin. There's like 1 or 2 runs per character and that doesn't really peek my interest. For example, the "world record" with Ryu is 19m:21s, only one guy on the leaderboard. I'm sure I could get a "world record", but I would not be motivated to put in the time to do optimized runs, which is what I like to do.
