In my experience the Spectralert Advances are actually not that much louder than most fire alarms. I think their obnoxious sound gives the illusion that they are louder!

The Wilhelm Scream of fire alarms! They are indeed really loud, but I also find the Wheelock AS and Simplex TrueAlert (specifically the conventional multi-candela horn/strobe versions) to be just as loud as the Advance.

Nice system test. I don’t mind the Spectralart advance I like that they come in a lot of different variety

I have to admit, system sensor's A/Vs were pretty good sounding. It's way less ear piercing than the modern EST Genesis. The truealert is also kinda chill compared to the Genesis.

I heard these from my hotel’s pool while I was on vacation as well as the Wheelock slow whoop from one of the buildings.

YESSS!!! ONE OF MY FAVORITE ALARMS!!!

You know, I think these are one of the best Alarms to have, one of my personal favorites they are loud, and they are always a 💯 accurate and a good Safety Resource. I’ve witnessed these alarms in person and a ton, not only bouncing back from the hotels I’ve been staying at for hockey and school, but My HighSchool Has these Alarms but they are Notifiers with a Code 3 but a lot at the beginning of the school year, we have had a lot of false alarms and Accidents and Mis Functions within the building. But One day I’ll never forget I was eating Lunch in the Cafeteria with my friends and These alarms at ( Orba D. Tompkins Highschool in Katy Texas ), went off and we evacuated due to a Low water pressure system within the sprinklers. And we all thought it was a drill, but it was real and We stood outside in the heat for several minutes until the Fire Department came and told us we were clear to go back in , But overall a pretty cool experience but what I found strange was all the classrooms had Ceiling mounds, with a strobe of the Advance, but in the hallways the ceiling strobes had a horn and strobe, but in the hallways we had the advances set to code 3 and the outside alarms are red, with only the Horn itself, but I thought it was kinda cool to have the two colors, but thank you for posting this video, and showing me some more factual information of a system sensor, next time when I get a chance I’ll have to make a video of A Tompkins FireDrill🚨🔥

I always love the sound of Spectra alert advances shame we don’t have them types in much parts of the uk i have only ever seen 1 Spectra alert advance in a Premier inn forgotten which city or town it was

I have SpectrAlert advanced at my school, and holy shoot is it loud! It’s so loud the teachers have to tell you there’s a drill. And in the gym you have 4 of them screaming at you.

An apartment around a half block away from us has these, and we (or at least I) hear them every time they sound.

Spectralert Advances are very loud! Louder than most fire alarms out there! But these alarms aren't bad! In one of the elementary schools I went, it had a system full of Spectralert Advances. But most of the classrooms in the school didn't have a horn strobe. I think if the school wants to install a system full of the advances, they should not have a horn strobe inside the classroom. My high school has a system full of EST genesis and integrity, I personally think that EST has the best horn strobes. Actually wheelock's horn strobes are the loudest because some of their alarms exceed 100 decibels! This alarm generates 97 decibels! The Wheelock NS is the loudest fire alarm!

My school has these (P2R models) and they’re all on high volume code 3. They’re also in the classrooms, so I’m basically immune to the screech of a Spectralert Advance.

SpectrAlert Advance is my favorite Horn Strobe. My favorite Speaker Strobe is the Simplex Truealert Speaker Strobe.

I have these atg my school,that acativation with the heat dector sounds like what the beginning of a frie drill sounds like in my homeroom.

One of my grandmother’s old apartment had an alarm just like that. Of all the time I’ve visited, they went off twice due to some kids fooling around in the hallways. Except they were red.

Inside the school there a wall mounts outside of the school. There is the same p2r advanced on the roof. It’s just a strobe though but there are speakers no strobe and it’s really big with a rim on it so basically my school use a system sensor but notifier voice evac message

My middle school has these alarms in there in a covered to protect them in the gym and they have bg-12 in the outside of the schools they have with Siemens low-frequency Sounders

I like Spectralert Advances. In fact I actually like them over the L Series.

0:28 that's why I'm glad that my school only does 2 fire drills per year although we instead have System Sensor L series but they are about as annoying as the SpectrAlert advance

this is basically the same system that my elementary school had, the two main differences is the Advances were red and the pull stations were notifier and they took a hex key to reset

I have system sensor speaker, strobes in my school they have the notifier evacuation message in the temporary whoop

They have these at my 18 yr old school and you’d think that one or 2 alarms in a hollow space is too loud but in the middle school section, we have 4 of these advances on medium volume and I don’t even know how I tolerate it!

My school used to have these in the portables but they where red. Sadly they got replaced them with the L-series.

I have a weird smoke alarm at my grandparent's house, it has a picture of a fireman with the number ”1” on its face with fire behind it, it's faceplate is black plastic and the test button is a small red rectangle.

I believe what they are the loudest ever because especially for people with hearing impaired

For years this was rumored is one of the loudest fire alarms in the United States actually the Wheelock NS And it’s cousins is the loudest .

The indoor models of SpectrAlert Advance horn strobes are no longer being made anymore. S.E.R Safety's good representation of a fire alarm is the SpectrAlert Advance but for outdoor models because the outdoor models are still being made today. A good representation of an indoor fire alarm is the System Sensor L Series because it has the same horn as the SpectrAlert Advance did and its being made today.

These are not that loud. I remember I had them in my middle school (which I don't go to anymore). Now I believe the panel for the system was set to continuous because I had simplex true alerts there. But I think the advanced themselves were coded Temporal 3

Not huge on the Spectralert Advance, definitely more of a Gentex fanboy. The Commander 3 does make a loud and authorative noise, but it also doesn't make you go deaf while exiting the building.

You should put an alarm outside and/or in the attic.

But although there dang loud on high volume I LIKE IT!!

wellllllll the advances are very common, but in my area its common to find a fire lite ms 9200ud with bg 12lx’s and sd 355 smokes and spectra alert classics and a little rare for advances

I think the main reason why the spectralert is sorta hated and unique is because well, they're basically everywhere. Like every 2- maybe 5 buildings you'll system with these, or L-series which to me is just a redesign of the advance. But yeah, from hearing these alarms go off randomly for fire drills for pretty much a decade, I can say that I still like the look of these. Sorry for the long comment, but I did want to share my "opinion" on what I think of the advance a little.

Actually kind of surprised by how NOT loud they are. Good attention-getting sound though. Not like old-school monotone alarms that relied on sheer brute volume.

I actually hate the System SpectrAlert Advanced just because I had to deal with them for 6 years and now I have to deal with a lot of Wheelock NS models for the next 2 years.
