S.H.Figuarts GUTS BERSERKER ARMO HEAT OF PASSION

So, I was kind of holding my breath for this one as soon as it was announced and went up for preorder. I knew I had to have it, but there were also a couple of concerns that still lingered with me from the first Guts release?
Will they still use those small shoulder joints that fell apart on me when posing? Fig the wrist joints get an update to better adjust for all that sword welding stress? Would I be able to pose this figure around without fear of breaking anything?
Well luckily for the most part, what we get with this release is indeed an improvement that almost feels like a different figure! So lets jump right in and take a closer look.

NOOO he is NOT suppsoed to be more muscular, The armor sucks the life out of him so he in fact gets leaner with prolonged use. So the figures proportions look spot on.

That’s what I find funny about all the reviews bashing the proportions while calling themselves Berserk fans, way to wear your ignorance on your sleeve haha

Just got mine and had to watch your vid to see how to put it together xD i was so scared of breaking something but it's actually pretty robust and definitely hard the first time to pop the legs in my god

Definite improvement over the first. I enjoy it way more. My main thing i want them to improve is the ball pegs themselves. What we got now helps a lot more than the first but they could make them more secure in the future. When you compare their secureness to the shf dragon ball figures or the naruto or the jjk, those ball pegs are very secure and take more effort to pop off. One may argue its to avoid breakage but i had shf sasuke hold dragon slayer, even started swinging it around on his one arm and it had no issue😂 hoping they make bigger ball pegs for future Guts releases. Especially a black swordsman Guts

I genuinely am upset I missed the pre-order for this figure. Amazing work from Tamashii here. It's a super upgrade from the last two releases, even tho Griffith actually wasn't that bad. Amazing review sir eighty-sixed, quite the thumbnail.

It really sucks that I just recently bought the previous SHF Guts Berserker armor. The joints problem is really apparent and I paid a lot for it. I haven't really watch any reviews. Just a few around the release and people were praising the sculpt. After some time more reviews came in and it was apparent the figure have some problems. I guess I'm a sucker for not doing more research. Sucks for me. I'd rather pick this one up... with fixed joints.

I genuinely don't see what there is to gripe about in this figure other than those shoulders and perhaps a fear that the tightness and security of the joints may give The sculpt is great, the wash helps and the engineering and range is like 10/10 for the most part except debatably the shoulders (I don't mind them per se, but I also wouldn't mind bigger joints there that are sturdier) so I don't see what there really is to majorly improve upon other than that? The cape, maybe? Or maybe the sword could've been hollow? Rarely do I see major points docked from an otherwise stellar figure for one point of articulation being slightly worse in the design department than it could be (but otherwise still having an insane amount of range), so I'm a little confused. Maybe it's just apprehension about praising this figure too much considering the spotty two first releases, and maybe the fear of having egg on your face if QC issues start to pop up over time? Idk.

So far so good! Usually I put my figures back in the box after reviews but this, without his cape is on my work desk. I pose him around quite a bit. Mind you, I’m still careful with it.

That armor looks good! if you squint you're eyes it kinda looks like batman suit armor. Much better than the previous 2 berserk figuarts, hope to pick these up someday but the price is off putting 😂

@@ant_989 The Berserker Armor isn't a Figma, but a Plamatea. A model kit. And it's 1/10 scale, not 1/12, so bigger than Figma and Figuarts.

Great review! However I personally still have some big issues with this figure. The proportions are still way off. The arms and lower legs are too long and he definitely is too skinny. The cape still kinda sucks cause the paint doesn't go all the way down the cape for some reason and you can see the wire. The shoulder joints are still very limited but the build and paint quality are far better than the first figure

hes not too skinny. the armor destroys his body making him skinnier each use, which is why in the most recent chapter he cant hold his sword. he has long arms which is comic accurate and long legs which is also accurate. just putting that out there

the shoulders joints aren't limited. they literally have some of the best range in an armored figure for the most part. the shoulder set up isn't ideal with those fairly small balls, but the range is impeccable so I'm not sure what you're waffling on about there and he's not too skinny. this version literally was super skinny because the armor was sapping his strength and draining him down until he was emaciated

Just say you don’t read the manga. Do you know what everyone said about Guts when they saw him after wearing the armour for the first time? It aged him 20 years. He was thinner, leaner. It ate away at his muscle and himself. How do you think the skull knight became a skull? The suit feeds off the host. He’s weaker without it than he used to be, that’s one of the reasons why he can’t take it off now. They always draw him gaunt and lanky in the armour. It’s part of the reason he looks like a demonic animal rather than a man. He IS lanky and skinnier at the point. If they do the Golden Age and he’s still the same, then there’s an issue but this is accurate.

I thought the joints on Griffith were fine? Just the problem with the way they did the sheath and the faces looking wonky (which is a pretty big problem of course)
