The Flameborn Rodan is really cool because it uses UV paint on the ends of the wings, making it glow orange and yellow under UV light! I have had my Hiya Rodan for about a year and he’s held up great, bendy wire still works perfectly. My only issue is that after posing him (which I do a lot) for about 6 months, the joints that connect his shoulders to his body get loose and one wing has broken off before. It’s pretty easy to pop back in so it isn’t really a problem, just something to keep in mind with this figure :)

After a custom quick wash, I think I like the SHMA in terms of sculpt. And super unpopular opinion....but I greatly prefer SHMA's Mothra. No figure of her out there is 100% movie accurate, but Bandi is the closest in terms of wing design, and scale. The Hiya and NECA used an older concept art version. I will say My Hiya doesn't feel like its gonna break if I breathe on it, but I love the organic, curvature of SHMA's wings.

I really like the S.H.Monsterarts Rodan but I don't want Mothra with it and its a lot of money. I also like Hiya Toy Rodan but if the bendy-wires breaks its just ruined so I don't really know which one to get so if you guys have both let me know which one I should get

I’d personally get the Hiya toys one. Just don’t bend the bendy wire too much or too far and it should be good. Honestly better paint, damn near identical sculpt and half the price seals the deal for me.

I own the Hiya Toys Rodan and I love it but the only problem I have with it at the moment is the stand it’s not very stable and I am a little scared of the bendy wings breaking but I don’t move them very much

First I ever bought, i owned all my Hiya toys figures for a few months. I think I got my Hiya Goji about a month after I got the Rodan.

The paint thing was the ion dragon that was not Rodan. He does not have fire breath.

No thats Rodan. It’s from the end credits scene from Kong Skull Island, and I believe is explicitly mentioned as Rodan or at least implied. Ion Dragon would not be added to the continuity until four years later

I prefer MonsterArts. I like the burgundy red & black colors on it alot more. Looks more accurate to me, especially around the eyes. Hiya's got... 1954 Godzilla/Shin Godzilla eyes goin' on + on my Rodan, I just painted the edges of his wings & tail orange. With Hiya's Rodan, I'm just not a fan of the ugly, muddy, splotchy-lookin' paint job & I don't like nor trust the wires in his wings. I had a Revoltech Rodan (1956) with wires in his wings & 1 of em snapped so that's why I'm hesitant to buy a Hiya Rodan figure. However, I MAY get the Flameborn version but I'm not sure yet.
