Don't think this series of vids is about discouraging people from moving to the UK. They're just about the different cities of UK in the eyes of those who've really spent some time there. The comparison of prices seem inevitable for anyone who've lived a reasonable period of time in HK and UK. Similarly someone (hopefully, Sarah) having spent some time living in both HK and Australia will come up with similar observations. Nobody's making judgement about how these places compare. It's totally a matter of personal preference. Doing some homework to understand a place, especially about affordability, before you move there for good is definitely wise. These videos are helpful in that sense. Really don't see why some people got so upset about the comparison.

I was born in HK grew up in New Zealand and moved to the UK for over 15 yrs. I am not too sure about all the opinions given with safety, sure is pretty common sense not to walk alone at night at a quiet place. But that's applicable all over the world. I grew up in a council flat in HK and I feel safe, but what about Mong Kok in HK, there are areas I wouldn't really wanna go during the day let alone at night. I haven't actually been to a restaurant with a DJ, but if he wanna go to a quiet place to eat in Soho go to Dean Street down house, numerous Italian places and also China town. I have female friends around the world and in general they feel much safer than other counties.
