The Asia Cup cricket competition is currently underway in Sri Lanka and Pakistan.
After this loss, the Nepali team has returned to Kathmandu.
The Nepali team participated in the Asia Cup with hopes of gaining more exposure than winning this time. The Nepali team was relatively successful in this tournament.
In the match against Pakistan, Nepal's bowling was praised. In the match against India, the Nepali batsmen managed to draw the attention of the cricket world.
In this Asia Cup, Sompal Kami performed exceptionally well from the Nepali side. He even changed his introduction to a bowling all-rounder in the match against Pakistan and India.
"We were happy playing against Pakistan, but we were saddened by not being able to display a good performance. We want the world cricket to take notice of us. We had set high hopes for ourselves," Sompal said. "To be honest, after losing the match to Pakistan, we were very disappointed. We even contemplated staying indoors for a couple of days after practice. Coach Monty had also understood this. That's why we only did workouts at the gym after reaching Sri Lanka. We went sightseeing and practiced indoors on the last day before the game."
"We were able to enter India's dressing room. It was only possible because of Monty Sir. Hardik Pandya gave me a medal. We have the concept of our happy dressing room, where there's a trend of giving awards and medals for good performances on that particular day. This time there were no awards," Sompal said. "Making videos in the Indian dressing room is a big deal for us. Who can make 'Our Show' by going into someone's dressing room? Only Monty Sir could do it."
