Ixie X No, it’s wrong. They are congratulating her for her marriage. It’s true that 中馈has a meaning that has to do with food, but in this case they are using the other meaning that is wife, and 虔恭these two characters means congratulations. And the expressions from those two were because of 凤九, this Chinese drama main character, was escaping. Actually, everyone has to stay and listen if there is an imperial edict, because the imperial edict are as important as the king, and well... she didn’t even care😂 If it wasn’t read by him, she would have been in serious problems right now

Bai qian deserves this love.

So sad that the director could not get Mark Chao to reprise the role of Ye Hua so that we could have all enjoyed the much anticipated wedding with Ye Hua and Bai Qian. So many fans tuned into the wedding episode just to be bitterly disappointed that only Yang Mi agreed to return. The director could not replace Mark Chao with another actor because in the hearts of millions of fans, only Mark Chao would have been accepted by the fans…I agree even though I would have enjoyed watching the entire wedding ceremony.

I thought they'd go bigger considering they are the Crown Prince and Princess and I thought ALi would be there proudly and excited to see his parents remarry. I also thought BQ would be wearing the ultimate in red wedding gown and a gold jeweled headdress. But she did look pretty. That was a blunder on their part. Or have someone else play his part. But not having a groom present I get what they tried to do. However once she reached heaven they should have him or another person playing his role awaiting her at the gate or in the hall to continue the wedding ceremony.

I really dont know why they bothered adding BQ to this story when YH isnt even in it and their son is now a girl. So much of the original story was changed, they could easily have used this time for more Di Jun and Feng Jiu parts, because we dont even get to see the wedding anyway...

Because it’s guest appearance which adds to nostalgia value to the episode, and the wedding is a pretty important event in the original book as well. I’m sure the production tried their hardest to get Ye Hua’s actor as well as other actors in the Peach Blossom, but it often happens that actors have conflicting schedule or simply don’t have time for the filming. And the original story really was not changed, they just used a girl actor for A Li, who is a little boy. This is rather common practice, especially for little boys who are know in character to be pretty (see most live adaptation of young and sometimes old Nezha). The original story of Pillow Book basically started here, and never went into detail about what actually happened in the mortal realms. Not showing anything about the wedding would actually change the story, since it was at the wedding where Di Jun first officially meet Feng Jiu.

This is the ceremony of delivery of the bride to Ye Hua's family, the wedding was obviously in Ju Chong Tian. Everything is explained in the book.

It's about Emperor Lord Dong Hua Dijun of the Heavenly Realm and Princess Bai Feng Jiyu of Qingqu, falling in love. If you'd like more information, I would suggest watching 10 Miles of Peach Blossoms, the story from the perspective of Bai Qian, the woman in white. Pillow Book is sort of a remake of that show.

"Pillow Book" isn't a remake. It's based on the second book, and it's Donghua Dijun and Bai Fengjiu's love story. "Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms" is Bai Qian and Ye Hua's love story, based on the first book. However, since the production team didn't have the copyright license to The Pillow Book, they made up their own version of Donghua and Fengjiu's story. So, all of THEIR parts in TMOPB is non-canon, whereas Bai Qian and Ye Hua's parts are followed very closely from the book.

I do recall Dijun and Feng Jiyu meeting differently in 10 Miles of Peach Blossoms. They meet differently in Pillow Book. Which is why I said "a sort of remake." I understand that there was licensing issues with Liu Yuxin owning the filming rights because she wanted to be Feng Jiyu. I apologize for not specifying that how the pair met, seemed redone to me. (Again, if I got that wrong, apologies.) I am to be clear, referring to the shows, not the novels.

I don't think that's a rule? Because in TMOPB when the other girl married the heavenly emperor and during her failed attempt to marry Yehua she wore red both times. But in pillow book when the demon princess was supposed to marry Donghua her dress wasn't red either. So who knows.

Well, i think this is a different story, and the eternal love couple cameo here is not based anymore in Ten miles, it looks like they are different from the previous one, why? How on earth a-li became a girl, she was a boy back then lol😂, and another one, when i watch ep1 of this drama, the couple of this drama meets again for the first time and seems dont know each other yet? i remember they are already in love in eternal love, so i guess this is a different story🤔 Lol😂

This story is the real one, based on the book... so they met in Ye Hua and Bai Qian wedding. And Ali is still a boy in the story but is performed by an actress here
