দেশে বছরে উৎপাদন হচ্ছে প্রায় ১ কোটি ৬০ লাখ টন সবজি। কিন্তু এ সবজি উৎপাদনে কৃষকরা ব্যবহার করছেন ৭০ হাজার টন কীটনাশক। এই যখন চিত্র, তখন চট্টগ্রামের সীতাকুণ্ড ১শ একর জমিতে বিষমুক্ত সবজি চাষ করে উদাহরণ তৈরি করেছেন চাষিরা। ভোক্তাদের কাছে নিরাপদ খাদ্য পৌঁছে দিতেই এমন উদ্যোগ বলছেন তারা। দাম বাড়তি হলেও বাজারে চাহিদা রয়েছে বিষমুক্ত সবজির।
