In reality, they would have retained him until it was clear he was really a hostage and was calm. Being calm would probably make SWAT suspicious.

I like the show, but I find it strange that the show runners don't seem to know that LAPD has like 9 swat teams. Same with just about every cop show in the last 20 or so years, it's always the main characters that have to do everything, and all other cops are either crash test dummies or mannequins in uniforms

This show is so unrealistic. Since when do M203 grenades fly up and down and side to side while being projected at a target as if they are rpgs. And the swat officer hanging off the side of the armored vehicle with one hand while not even facing the vehicle. One bump and he is gone. So unrealistic.

In real life I think grenade launchers shoot grenades at straighter trajectories than RPGs shoot rockets, but both projectile types detonate upon impact.

Почему они все ходят в противоударных шлемах?????? Они даже пистолетную пулю не держат. Понятно, что они легче, могут в какой-то мере удержать мелкие осколки или простой удар, но близкий подрыв гранаты или выстрел в голову они не выдержат. Помниться, NAVY SEALS тоже при высадке с вертолётов часто одевали эти защитные шлемы, по свойствам не отличающиеся от спортивных и не всегда потом одевали боевые. По идее тогда у бойца должно быть 2 шлема - тренировочный (противоударный) и боевой.

пластиковые шлемы нужны, по сути, для крепления приборов, ночного видения, тепловизоров, просто от ударов. Когда миссия не предполагает наличие артиллерии, а боевой контакт минимален.

You do realize that tech actually does exist right? Under barrel rockets have been a concept as far back as 1977, the newest variant being the Raytheon Pike which is semi laser guided and 40mm in 2015

Yeah, but there are several grenade launchers which is used as flare gun but capable firing real grenade and can become underbarrel attachment. And this actually available for American civilians. Just..., what purpose is that for? Defending your home from robber? Welp, you will have a big hole in backyard and expensive lawsuit coming in.

You can own a grenade launcher yes, for smoke, chalk rounds and full foam rounds but the High Explosive or High Explosive Dual Purpose are rare and have to registered under the NFA and ATF as ''Destructive Devices'' on their own, so if you want 3 HEDP Rounds your basically going to be going bankrupt for the price and then tax, so good luck getting any of those. Think of grenade launchers as shotguns, they have the ability to load dozens of different styles of round for different needs whether its Less-Lethal, Lethal, Turning people into puddles, or Training, they can be used for home defense with Hornet Rounds or Less-Lethal Rounds, you can train with them with Chalk Rounds, You have airburst flash bangs and more.
