Being a 1911 guy I'm really liking this. Perfect size for EDC. I own a couple Performance Center guns, and they tend to run very well. This may join them very soon. Nice job GB.

Thanks for taking the time and effort to do the review Graham - I am (was) in the process of weighing the pros and cons of the Kimber Micro 9 or SIg P938 but honestly I LIKE a grip safety which they both do not have. I also find their safeties very very small and with my big meat hooks that large safety is also appealing - this gun has floated to the top of the research over the Kimber or the SIg now. Thanks!

I have the 45 pro series, I’ve only fired about 75 rounds of different types It fired everything I put through it! I was very surprised 😊

Although costly, S&W 1911 are extremely reliable. Every S&W 1911 I ever had whether it was in their Scandium alloy frame or all steel was 100% reliable. S&W definitely got it right. Excellent review as always Graham.

I've always liked this size 1911. If you get a reliable one, it is a good gun for concealed carry and just a fun day plinking. Plus you get the great looks and history that comes with 1911's.

Glad to see it shoots as good as it looks. I really enjoy shooting 9mm out of the 1911 platform. The weight of the 1911 combined with the light recoil of the 9mm really makes the combo a dream to shoot. Thanks for the video 👍

I have the S&W 945 compact PC in .45 & it is a tack driver . Best shooter I own by far . They make great 1911 compacts IMO

Honestly,I saved the extra 400 dollars and bought the Sig 1911 Ultra Compact in 9mm. The only advantage the Smith has is if you want an easily concealable ..45 you need to buy the Smith because the Sig isn’t on Massachusetts’s Approved Roster in .45, at least not in the Sub Compact and the Smith is.

Solid analysis, good job. Makes watching the vid worth every second of my time. One suggestion…you may want to consider using a lav mic, especially when you’re competing with ambient noise. Still, a very good vid.

I own the .45 version, wonderful malfunction free gun so far. 700 rounds FMJ no problems

I'm impressed, I don't have a 9mm 1911, I have a. 38 Super and standard .45 ACP. Been on a budget buying binge as of late but I think I'll check this out, BTW, please, a Ruger Security 9 hopefully in the near future, I know there are alot of videos already out there but I enjoy your reviews and shoots so much I am waiting to see and hear your take on it. Slight correction...steel cases expand just as well as any other case material (35,000 psi will do that) but it does not SPRING BACK as well when the pressure returns to -0- as brass, which is much more ductile. Because of this, steel cases can, sometimes, give extraction problems. The cases did not expand well enough, there would be a lot of gas escaping the rear of the gun. Nice looking gun and good performance.

I have this same gun plus the same in 45acp. I bought the 45 1st & loved it do much I searched for the 9mm. Ignore list. I found both on gunbroker for more the $600 below list on a penny a sale. The 45 came with $350 crimson trace handguard not listed so it was an $800 savings. Not bragging. Just shop the penny auctions. People are not familiar with these yet. Good luck.

B-E-A-utiful 1911! A while back I got a great deal on a used Magnum Research 45 acp DE1911U 3" in black that so far hasn't experienced one hiccup. Love the size to weight ratio. I know this is 9mm but would the 2 be similar in weight? Love the Megadeth!

Sweet little 1911. It amazes me how companies sort of RIP each other off when it comes to design. This is almost a carbon copy of the Kimber Ultra Carry ll 9mm, and the Sig Sauer Ultra 9mm. But it appears to be a good copy. They too have 3" bull barrels, and 8 round capisity. This might be something I would buy to add to my 1911 collection.

Looks like neat little gun. Hopefully there will be a performance center version of the csx.

Got one and took it out the first time a couple weeks ago. Jury's out still. I could see this being my 1 handgun but I need more range time on paper to figure out where the hold is. Fits in a pocket holster in cargo dad shorts easily enough. I think I want to switch out the grip panels to something thinner.

How's the recoil compared to the Shield? If it's a heavier gun, it should shoot smoother.

Good looking little pistol. The recoil impulse look soft for a small gun.

Msrp 4 this 9mm. I didn't know 9mm loads were that much low grain. But seems like the lowest grain was the most powerful!

Hard to beat even an entry level 1911 on accuracy. I will have this pistol... Soon. You must have hands like a baseball glove brother. I have never in 31 years of shooting 1911's, of any size, not depressed the grip safety when firing. Fricken mutant. LOL!

Graham, has this been designed around a 9mm or is it using mags for 45 that have been adapted to a 9? Springfield claims the EMP was designed around the 9mm and I have wanted one, but I get a lot of mixed reviews regarding problems. Their bobtail has grips that are worse than a cheese grater.
