@@ToddTheGunGuy Well I was so used to bringing the gun up and having a good sight picture from my first 365. So literally just a few mags and I felt comfortable. Then after about 3 or 4 range days it was just as natural feeling as irons. Easy and fast. I love the sight picture. And the ports make it feel a little flatter shooting too.

CENTER MASS Question for you..I currently carry Shield .45 and am planning on picking up either the p365 or p365XL to replace it and get more capacity. The specs seem to put my shield and the XL at about the same size, and my shield prints every so slightly at the magazine base. It’s really not that noticeable, but was thinking about getting the standard p365 to cut down the grip a little. How noticeable of a difference is firing the p365 vs the XL? Does the longer grip and barrel make it a night and day difference in regards to accuracy and ease of shooting? I plan on getting to the range to test both, but figured i’d ask your opinion since you’ve got good experience with S&W and both p365’s. TIA

Brian B Hey Brian. I carry the standard 365 and absolutely love it. Summertime here so I do 10 with pinky for really small but majority of time 12RD. Just at range and kept inside 8” at 25yds. I would say a slight difference in accuracy and grip because you dont have a mag gap but not night and day. If looking for more concealable, standard 365. I wont be doing optics with my CCW so thats why I lean this way.

That is my biggest reason for the SIG. My neighbor got one and I kept looking at it. He then got the 15rd mag and I couldn't believe it. Thought the extended mag looked silly but I AM HOOKED!! Thx for watching

Todd The GunGuy The Gen 1 Performance Center has upgraded fiber sights, a ported barrel/slide and a better trigger. It’s a pretty nice upgrade over the regular gen 1. The gen 2 models seem to have - similar trigger as the gen 1 performance series. Been wanting to try an Apex trigger on it to see if there’s any further improvement to be had by going aftermarket, but the trigger is plenty nice, not really seen the need.

Hey Jeremy. I hear what your saying but they are both great, however I thought I leaned into the P365 for concealment and the XL for more range with optics. I personally wouldnt do a CCW with an optic. The other curve in comments below is to put a P365 Slide on the XL Frame. Did you pick a winner?

@jeremy, Agreed lol. I skipped to the end to see what kind of video it was. I get the statement that each gun is different in each person’s hands, but I’m looking for what people concluded for themselves and why they concluded that.

You need to try them on the range! I would never make my final decision on this. This is an aid.

@@normdutot5080 Good point I would never argue against. I've shot both at this point and my answer is - Shield all the way! My point above is just that - when we watch a review video, most of us do it because we want the reviewer to tell us which they like more and why. If I wanted information about the pistol - I would just look it up! Just being nit picky though, it's a good vid.

If you get a 365 that has xray 3 night sights those have had all the original issues fixed. There was only around 1000 made in the original gen 1 run that had the firing pin issue. I would say its safe to buy now, i have one havent had any issues with it.

I was sceptical at first too. Well I just got my P365 2 days ago and had a chance to hit the range today. 300 rounds not one problem. Soft shooter too, feels like handling a full size pistol. Great accuracy, I have no negative things to say about it. I will be putting another 200 rounds through her on sunday. CARRY ON.

The Shield will feel bigger in hand but I like the P365 overall better. The trigger and is just better made. With that said, the Shield is a nice gun too but final choice would be a P365

I currently have a shield 2.0, and I'm very happy with it--I got it for like $249 last year on a Memorial Day sale, which I think was an ok deal. I would NOT pay $470+ for it though, which seems to be the ridiculous going price. Edit--PSA has them for 470--there is where I bought mine from for $250 last year. Bass Pro Shops has then for $570 which is enough to make me never want to support them again. Ridiculous. I'm looking for something with a little more capacity than my shield while maintaining the fantastic concealability of the Shield so I'm considering a p365 or p365XL.

Cant go wrong with either but agree the price points the same right now. I would get the SIG

Same for is Todd. Single digits on Sunday. But then temps are back up for us above freezing again by Monday. It's a been a warm winter for us which blows because the ice fishing has been tough. Ice is good for a few days and then gets iffy with a warmup. Anyhow I hope you can get out for some small game, if not this weekend, maybe next.

It’s not possible. The only reason shield arms was able to do that is Because glock magazine have thick walls a steel wall covered a fatty layer of polymer. Shield arms got rid of polymer cover and instead increased the width of the steel body.

Hey Joel. I put a Hellcat in my hand and seems like a copycat from feel. All fairness, have not shot the Hellcat. I will have to defer on that one, however I can say that I love my SIG P365. 10-12-15 rd mags. Very accurate and have not had any issues. I shoot 150rds every time I hit range.
