You can't really blame Asriel though honestly, it's REALLY rare you come across a King Dedede main in professional play, this is probably his first match against a serious Dedede main.

As a co-main of the character, I think he's bottom 10. 2ND worst frame data in the game, one of the worst ground speeds along with the worst air speed. Sometimes Gordo can be reflected at you before the move is finished! However he possesses the best endurance in the game: 3RD heaviest, 2nd fastest faller and arguably the greatest recovery in the game. He also has great reach along with an insanely good edgeguarding game and an arguably even better gimping one, due to the fact Gordo's have a 50% chance of sticking to a wall. Look up Girthauake to see what he can do, then look up Big D in the case you want to pick him up (As quite a few do when watching Girth)

It depends a lot more on the matchup than with alost any other character. Dedede is terrible against top tiers who combo him for days, have projectiles to safely reflect Gordows and are too fast in general. But Dedede is a really good pick against a lot of lower ranked characters which have problems with Dededes spacing because they are slower or no projectiles. I main Ness and Dedede and I do way better against mid or low tier characters as Dedede.
