Hi, Dunnet Head is the most northerly point of mainland GB. A lot of people make the mistake of thinking John O'Groats is the most northerly point of mainland GB because there's allways talk of Land's End to John O'Groats. The fact is, John O'Groats is the furthest point away from Lands End.

Watching this episode on a 55" Samsung TV, I reckon your settings were fine, nice clear picture and good colour 👍. Those camper vans really spoil those lovely roads, the whole area seem to be over run with them.

Will be better in 4k though, if we did the NC500 in a car i think it would be pretty frustrating, at least on a bike you can nip in and out of smaller spaces.

To be fair this was during covid in 2021 everything was shut, so even when we did find something on google it wasn't open. Our next trip up there should be ok 😎 and i will be doing this again, its a fantastic place.

Really enjoying these vids so far.I’m off up to Scotland in may on the bike and your vids are giving some great ideas of where to go.One good thing about your videos is that it’s made up my mind about buying a sat nav.I don’t think I’ll bother,,I’ll stick to a paper map and pen and paper..can’t wait to watch the other vids when I get time and hope you continue to post a lot more,,great stuff and looking like a great holiday so far

Sat Navs are good if you know how to fully work them, i think there lies the problem with mine :) I do keep trying though, when i work it out i will do a video about it and tell the world 😂

Nice trip & vlog guys , but I’m afraid, how would you expect mr camper van driver to see you whilst reversing, when your stuck to his bumper, proves it on the next shot, behind the merc, you could have leant forward & cleaned his rear screen . Space guys.

Glad your enjoying the videos, thanks. i think with the camper van my mate expected him to drive through so had to stop suddenly behind him. The Merc i pulled up behind looks closer than it was i think. We all got home safely which is the main thing 😊

hi lad enjoying your vlog... ;0 THE GOOD AND THE BAD.. all adds to the adventure.. Just a note John 'o Groats is the most northerly inhabited point on mainland Britain. Dunnet head is the most Northerly geographical point.. So its just the word inhabited that seperates them .. Happy days lad and i find that filming at 60fps solves a lot of problems,, 4k at 30fps leaves a lot of motion blur.. I personaly have started to film at 2k 60fps then edit it down to 1080.. Simply because unless you have a major gaming PC or a Mac you will be looking at at least One hour to render a 15 minute video and then upwarsd of two hours to upload the 4k file to you tube with the average upload speed of 20Mb/s.... to start vlogging a 4k 60 needs a lot of computing power with a serious invidea graphics card or at least a Ryzen 9 set up plus a net link of at least 100Mb/s... my site is expressly designed for lap top viewing as most people watch vloggers on this medium. i edit on a 27 inch monitor to have clear room for the editing window but i extend the viewing window on to my 15 inch laptop .. Just a few points to consider lad... But your personal approach to vlogging is awesome and content over video quality win the day every time..:) keep safe 🏍🏍🏍and Happy days on sunny dry roads my friend.

Great info that, nice to know how others do it. Its just disappointing when you create a video of great quality (actual video not the content lol) and then upload it and the quality is a quarter of what it was 😮 Some people like the motion blur on a bike, ill be honest i would rather see the views clearer and be able to share it. I will experiment with the next video and see how i get on with the whole process. ive bought a drone and a Insta360 x3 since too, so even more editing in future 😂

@@MotoTripTV Exactrly my friend.. You sort of develop the You Tube comression eye.. I usualy up the contrast by 10% and up the blacks in colour management.. looks way to dark but after the upload the contrast is returned to how you want it.. I edit a 3minute cut of the video. apply the You Tube colour shift 10% contrast and up the black. Load this on you tube.. See how it looks then do a bit of fine tuning of the whole video maybe alter the contrast to 13 or 14% . label the render as KZfaq Render for upload. I usually keep this settings as a LUT .. then apply it to any videos from that days vlogging. Keep happy my Friend and remember to have a beer when You Tube gets close to how you want the final look. :)))

when I planned my trip in June 2022 I worked out all the fuel stops along the route and marked them on a map, none were more than 80 miles from each other and most had un attended card operated pumps so were in fact open 24hrs more for the north coast route as quite a bit is single track with passing places note, in June the Dutch seem to swamp the NC500 with their bikes and campervans which they park in passing places making life difficult for everyone. One thing I did notice is cyclist's cheat on the Applecross pass, their camper/car goes a little way up and parks in a passing place the cyclist then has pictures taken of them going up but when they get to the van they get in and go up to the top for another photo of them on their bike getting there, then they do the same a couple of times on the way down so in effect they cheat getting bragging rights for something they did not do .

People parking/camping in passing places is definitely a problem. I am planning a trip around Europe for the summer, so will definitely map the fuel ⛽️ stops 😁
