It’s really special when music can transcend language. I am Australian, do not understand Dutch, and I’ve loved Eurovision for a long time- this song just touches me. I haven’t the faintest clue what it means, but I am in love with it. This is my favourite song to hit the Eurovision stage in years and years, and I hope it impacts others as much as it does me. I’ll be going to Turin, and I’ll be voting for it from there. Stunning. Just stunning.

@ margaret .Her song is about the sadness and the memories you carry with you. Everyone experiences events in their life that are difficult. "We must keep hoping and rejoicing, that will take us far, you can see that in me." Singer Stien den Hollander has also come 'from far' herself. After years of psychological problems and youth care, she now has the wind behind her. She says about her participation in the Eurovision Song Contest: “I'm doing it for that Stien and all the other people who have been to that place. It can just work out and that touches me.”

@qopoy dnon the instruments are overpowering the vocals in the mix during the chorus, it sounds more like a soundtech issue rather than a vocal issue :-)

Die paar tellen drum vanaf 1:35 geeft een waanzinnig effect. Zou nog heftiger mogen. Verder een geweldig live optreden. Wat goed zeg. Deze staging zou zo in Turijn neergezet kunnen worden. Ik voorspel heel veel "douze points" voor S10!

Being a Dutch resident and thus very into Dutch spoken songs, this years entry for the Eurovision Contest is another example of our talent. Duncan Laurence, Anouk, Douwe Bob,... Catchy and sincere song combined with an international hook ( da de da ... ) makes this the most evident winner of the 2022 Eurovision Contest. Love you S10 !

As a recent convert to the beauty and art of Dutch music, this song takes it to a new level. Simple in some ways, yet absolutely amazing lyrics and music. Very hopeful for this song and that it helps bring the recognition that the Dutch music community deserves!

As expected it gets an extra layer when sung live. As young as S10 is, she’s a vocal powerhouse. I have to say, the light production from the tv show excellent. This should definitely be in the final.❤️❤️

I’am not from the Netherlands. I love this song so much, the performance is so simple and yet is complete. I don’t know why there’re so many hateful comments in Dutch about this song and Stein. Krijg er geen genoeg van, luister dit nummer zoveel en voel tegelijk al het verdriet wat er op dit moment afspeelt in de wereld 😞 al heeft S10 er mogelijk een andere persoonlijk verhaal achter. Hij komt binnen..... Hopelijk nadrukken ze bij de live uitvoering de gitaar nog meer en de achtergrond zang. En draagt S10 een simpele lichtblauwe jurk uit sympathie voor wat er gaande is. Zo zou ik het willen zien maar goed dat is persoonlijk. Enorm veel succes S10 💪🍀💪🍀....ik luister x op x dankjewel 😘

As a lot of people already pointed out in this comment section, backing vocal that match the somberness of S10's voice will elevate an already simple yet effective atmosphere created by the lighting and camera work. With the fact that she can sing live, this is surely a qualifying entry.

Agree with more backing vocals. What I like about this live version compared to official music video is that in this version the guitars are more present which gives it a more dramatic effect.
