My truck is a 1999 S-10 ZR2 Regular Cab with the following mods:
SUSPENSION: stock suspension, slightly tweaked torsion bars, modded upper & lower Energy Suspension poly bump stops to limit travel, Bilstein 5100's (front PN 33-062518, rear PN 24-067379), Moog PS UCA bushings, Energy Suspension poly LCA bushings, and the alignment cam washers are tack welded in place. Rear panhard bar removed, fenders and flares highly trimmed to clear 32x11.50's on stock wheels under full compression and full lock, with 2" hub-centric billet aluminum 6061 spacers all around. We also proactively plated the frame all around the LCA frame mounts, where they tend to crack out.
AXLES: Iron 7.25” AAM front housing, stock GM 3.73’s, one-piece passenger-side Bravada axle shaft & axle tube, Lock Right locker, and a custom flange style CV axle conversion. Out back is the stock ZR2 8.5 10-bolt, stock GM 3.73’s, with a Detroit Locker.
STEERING: Super Steer idler pivot for a 2003+ GM 1 ton 4x4, in a custom built and fully gusseted frame mount, upgraded Outfitter Design tie rod sleeve with outer heim joints.
TRANSFER CASE: Stock NP-233 electronic shift, front output fixed yoke conversion, wide chain conversion, with the factory vacuum switch deleted.
POWERTRAIN: Stock 4.3 V6/4L60, Flex-A-Lite E-fans, JBA headers, custom built single 3” Magnaflow exhaust, Dyno tune with HP Tuners software. It’s still a turd. Boosted LS/4l80 coming….
Interior: 2002 Escalade instrument cluster conversion, transmission floor shifter conversion, Alpine sound system, 600W with single 10" sub, and a backup camera.

This ZR2 is a good build. Especially cool as a shortbed, or non extended cab. The ZR2 has a reputation for being very good offroad. They also have a reputation for not being very good at all. The G80 provides good traction for most people, but when the trails get more technical, the open front diff holds it back. Most people go for the SAS swap, but for the build I have planned, I intend to use the ifs that the vehicle comes with. This is only the second of such builds I have found on you tube. The other is a stock Blazer ZR2 with a locker or limited slip up front. That video, and this one prove just how capable a ZR2 actually is, all they really need is something to control wheelspin on the front axle. Nice build, and good job getting through that bit of trail. Very cool. My vehicle is a four door Blazer, with no G80. It will be a power train doner for a model with less rust.

@IGNACIO MARCELO RAMOS RIVEROS Hello there! I have seen some people fit 33x12.50's on the stock 7" rims before. You probably wouldn't get the best wear on the tires on the road like that, but yes they will fit. You would also need to run wheel spacers behind the wheels to keep the tires from rubbing on the suspension.

@milesspeed7547 4 жыл бұрын
@@dakotaosmer4391 I did not notice any difference on-road at all, and I drive pretty hard. Off-road, the rear axle articulates drastically better. The ES poly sway bar bushings up front are a great upgrade to tighten on-road handling. The ES poly lower control arm bushings didn't change handling, but are less prone to deflection and corroding from the elements like rubber does. If you're going to go through all the trouble to replace those things, use the ES polyurethane for the lowers. But NOT for the uppers! They allow the UCA to shift forward and backwards. Use Moog Problem Solvers for the UCA bushings, or whatever your favorite brand is.

@milesspeed7547 3 жыл бұрын
No. It currently fits 32x11.50's or 33x10.50's just fine, under full suspension compression off-road. That's also the tallest tire I would run under the factory differentials I've got, which are a 8.5" rear and 7.25" front. More lift would raise my center of gravity, which I want to keep as low as possible. You always match your lift to fit the tires you are going to run, while also staying within the working limits of your axles/diffs.

@@milesspeed7547 I get the center of gravity, I just like to have a bit more travel. I’d never lift a vehicle past 2-3” at most...
@milesspeed7547
@milesspeed7547 3 жыл бұрын
@@CarGuy5141 With the factory short/long control arm suspension, full suspension compression & extension is limited by the operating angle of the ball joints, CV axles & tie rods. I've maxed that operating angle as far as I am comfortable, and even use modified Energy Suspension poly bump stops to even limit that compression & extension. My point being, lifting this factory suspension won't increase suspension travel. It just raises the COG and changes the breakover, approach/departure angles. To be honest, it's very well balanced off-road right now. For what it is, with lockers front & rear and 32" tires, it works very well. That being said, if I ever decide to go with larger tires, I would replace all the factory suspension with either a 4-link/coilovers SFA or a full tube front end to support Ultra4 style long travel IFS. Big dollars though! Lol
