some native birds have been released and we're beginning to see increasing numbers of some due to recent pest control efforts and the awesome programs of revitalisation. i think we're only just beginning to see the increasing bird numbers so early days but it's a relief to see some of the terrible things we did to our wildlife is finally turning around. I hope this show does an episode on the wildlife natives over these timelines.

So I'm from Porirua but now live in wanaka, I just binged the first season and was blown away at the production quality and engrossing story telling. But holy hell if the south island dosent feel like Porirua in the early 90s.

Surely this story should have started with the mass burning of central Otago and Canterbury during the moa hunter era and the ecological damage that was done pre European? A selective telling of our history makes you very hard to take seriously.
