@@seandouglas6769 I care because I want to hear more about Curb and since they are on a quasi time limit, the more Jeff rambles about his ex wives, the less time we hear about Curb. If it were a 3 hour podcast, I wouldn't care Like in today's episode, Suzie was getting down to business and Jeff stopped her and said "wait! You didn't introduce us to the audience!" So she had to stop and start over and say "hi I'm Suzi Greene and this is Jeff Garland and welcome to the History of Curb your Enthusiasm: A Podcast all about the hit HBO television show starring Larry David, Suzi Greene, Jeff Garland, Cheryl Hines. And it aired from 2000 to 2024 and today's podcast episode is about Season 2 Episode 6" Us listeners didn't need all that

I think the orchids were the acupuncturist’s way of trying to win the bet. He knew Larry would be weirded out by a man sending him orchids, and would say he feels better to avoid having to go in and see him.

Love Garlin, but the University of Chicago has never had a football team? The first Heisman trophy winner was presented on December 9, 1935, to Jay Berwanger, a triple threat cyclone and legendary “one-man-gang” in the University of Chicago's backfield. The university abolished its football program in 1939 and withdrew from the Big Ten in 1946. They now play in division III.

Because Larry likes characters who get angry for no plausible reason, it happened all through Seinfeld, people who were unhelpful or unappreciative for no discernible reason other than it was just funny. And this is utterly ridiculous ofcourse. We can only presume the guy failed to notice he was on fire and just thought Larry was being rude.

Interesting! I just took Jeff's word on that and didn't give it much thought but yup! Founding member of the Big 10. They did cut sports from the 1930s till the 1960s and then came back in Division 3. Asner would have been there in that time frame. Late 40s early 50s

Love the show. Though I don't know why Jeff & Susie act as if there was no explanation at all provided for the orchids. At the very end, after the acupuncturist assures Larry it's an ancient custom -- or something along those lines -- he gives Larry a super weird look supporting the theory that he was, in fact, courting Larry. Sure, it's laughably far fetched, but it's in keeping with the episode's surrealism. And it's not something that can be missed. (Jeff probably doesn't reference it in a misguided attempt at "sensitivity" in hindsight. He's a bit over-the-top with all that!)

I actually love this episode. I never noticed it was "off". I always assumed the orchids were a subtle reminder to Larry about the bet and a way to say "best of health" to Larry in hope that he can win the bet and have Larry cured and happy. If I had a bet with someone, and I feared they might forget me, I might text them to see how they are, to remind them of my existence! As to why the real-life acupuncturist gave Larry orchids but not Jeff, that is a puzzle. Perhaps the acupuncturist knew Larry had a lot of money and was keen to make him a regular client.

I think if the listerners/viewers saw some progression being made with less interruptions there would be more patience for this, but he basically is giving the audience the middle finger with no signs of this being better.

@@leob4403 Not really, I know you may be joking but I'm sick of hearing ADHD being used as some sort of excuse for anything a person diagnosed with it does. Some people think ADHD itself is a largely misdiagnosed condition labelled on people who are just plain rude and need to settle down not be given excuses to carry on acting like fools. But how can you even buy a hard hat with a Cubs logo, it's a bizarre item to be wearing all of a sudden. Usually he has a Cubs baseball cap on but why are the Cubs making hard hats? This needs an explanation.

And yes receiving a couple of psychiatric diagnosis is definitely a carte blanche to let your ego grow completely out of control and behave like a scumbag. I have seen it happen time and time again

Thing that annoys me is that he seems to think he's the star of the podcast. Constantly tells stories about his ex wife and other stuff I don't care about. If it were a 3 hour podcast I would not mind. But they are kinda in a time limit and I want to hear about the show and Larry

Yes, I think they shot much of the podcast while they filmed the final season. This allowed them easier access to their guests (fellow actors). Probably much easier than waiting 6 months and then begging people to show up for free. As for the hard hat it seems to be for a new sports dome that the LA Clippers play in. Perhaps he was a VIP guest at a press announcement during construction?

Ugh..i am 15 mins in and am finding tbis particular podcast extremely irritating and boring; Jeff's interruptions have gone to a new level - very annoying and unbearable; i know he is aware of this but why cant he correct it ?...

Maybe he will eventually. These were all filmed way before any of them were posted to KZfaq. I've wondered what season they are doing podcast episodes of now in May 2024
