@@cruisingandromeda Sounds like the Tamas would take up too much deck space. But I'm guessing an electronic drum kit would work really well! And who know's you may be able to team up with a guitar player or two and maybe a local steel drum artist to welcome a sunset! Jimmy Buffett style of course!

I just finished watching your latest video and I have to say that I am almost as excited as you were on your re-launch until I saw the ending smiles both of you had on your faces. It is hard for me to believe that it has been over 100 days since you have been on the hard. Just my opinion but I only ask that you do not rush the rest of the loop as this is usually a one-time cruise and I'm sure you would not want any regrets of things and places you might have missed. Anyway, congratulations on the re-launch and Godspeed on the rest of your trip. God Bless

I am so happy for you guys, it’s just wonderful that you are up and running again. I hope the rest of your adventure goes smoothly. At some point, I would love to hear more about the final engine alignment and how it was done. Also, how this long delay altered your plans because it sounds like you may be getting a late start northward on the loop especially if you plan to take the Trent-Saverne canal through Canada. Good luck on your trip going forward, look forward in sharing your new adventures. 👍

Happy that you were able to get Andromeda repaired and can continue your loop. Last summer my liveaboard dragged anchor in a storm and grounded. It suffered relatively minor damage and was on the hard for 30 days- they were 30 very long, anxiety-ridden days. Finally some great news. Gotta love the metal scrapping too. I've found some pretty cool stuff at the scrap yard, and left with as much as I went there with! You have to go to a yard with a retail tax license or whatever so they can legally sell junk to the public. I didn't hear you mention getting a flat tire so that's good. :)😅 I sure hope your sea trial goes smooth with no weird vibrations or leaks.

I was getting choked up with excitement and anticipation and relief - it’s impossible to not experience all of the raw emotion right along with you. I’ll bet you were holding your breath when she splashed, hoping against hope to not see any water coming in anywhere…and then I suspect it was really scary to push the throttles forward and run up the RPMs the first time. If you ever write an article to chronicle the experience of dealing with massive repairs, a good title might be “101 Days on The Hard”. Ugh. BTW, sixty-two minutes of footage and only about 50 seconds of it featured Ollie, but I’ll cut you some slack since there were really important things to film. He sure looks anxious and perplexed - hope he’s back in the rhythm of boat life by now. 🥰🐾⚓️

That's a great point! And something I still wonder about. We saw all the large sport fishing boats do it...it was actually the techs and yard guys who said its not worth it. Especially with us returning to fresh water. I don't know much about the prop speed coating.

!00 plus days in Alabama. Congrats on becoming honorary citizens of the Great State of Alabama. This also means you guys are officially ALABAMA football fans, Roll Tide Roll. I'm now convinced that y'all didn't hit a tree stump. I think y'all hit a sunken U-boat from WWII. It's well documented that there were U-boats in the Gulf. Apparently, at least one went up river. God bless you guys. Such patience and optimism. Two questions: 1. When are you doing another Loop? 2. Do you have the name of Ollie's breeder? That's one heck-of-a dog........

Great comment BigBama! Thank you! We do feel like honorary citizens. Love it there! I did shout a few Roll Tides during my time there, with our new friends....but we are from Michigan, so.....well anyway... I have never heard about the U Boats, and now I am obsessed with finding out more. I think we may have found the one that went up river! haha! 1)Great question and we talk about another loop or future boating plans daily. You never know where the winds will take us. 2)Dumaw Creek Pups, Pentwater Michigan, ask for Nikki Adams Thanks for the great comment and for following along with us BigBama! Best to you! :)

Hope you're on your way when you posted this video. I should have thought of it sooner, but a trip to Beach Bum Outdoors would have helped with your trip. Three KZfaq fishing channels started it. Beach Bum, Bearded Brad and Brant Peacher. All good guys, and if they knew your predicament one of them may have taken you fishing to help easy the stay. And Peacher does real estate. Sorry, just didn't think about it.

Congrats on getting back on the water! What are the Zincs for?
@cruisingandromeda
@cruisingandromeda 2 ай бұрын
This is from BoatUS: Zinc anodes are placed on hulls, propeller shafts, rudders, trim tabs, outboard engines, stern drives, and in the cooling system of most inboard engines to protect their metal parts from galvanic corrosion.

Very interesting video. You mention the product 5200 a few times, is that the same as sikaflex. I've heard other boat channels use this product and I assume it's like a marine grade of silicone. Do I understand that correctly?
@cruisingandromeda
@cruisingandromeda Ай бұрын
Great question! 5200 is a 3M brand of marine adhesive. Sikaflex is a similar product, but made by sika. We are not sure which one is better, we just always used 3M. Thank you :)

I know you have gone thru alot. I'm sorry you had to go thru that. But, I hope that will end running in the dark in the rivers where they are loaded with trash. Open waters away from river outlets are very dangerous. Good luck on the rest of your trip.🧜‍♂️❤🫠🇺🇸
