i cant believe they actually assigned whole ass personality types to each character in the beginning, that is some dedication to knowing your characters also sophie has apparently one of the rarest personality types! only 1% - 3% of the population has it!

1:08 From the moment I noticed Maru wasn't in any of the pictures, when Maru is only there when Sophie is alone and when the only picture that has Maru in it was when Sophie was still a child makes me think that Maru is Sophie's imaginary companion or that Maru is a ghost of Sophie's late dog.

I love the fact that every character has simple names expect for Sophie who also has an original and distinct apparence, it emphasizes the fact that she's unable to connect with them, the nicknames are probably given by her, the guy being "him" because he's the most important to her

Okay so after watching this a couple times, here’s what I gather Sophie likes Him, and continuously tries to get his attention with magic, with help/sabotage from Maru. Big Boy likes Sophie and constantly keeps Him away from Sophie. Idol Girl likes Big Boy, and if this video is any indication, is jealous of Sophie, and intends to keep her from knowing Big Boy likes her. Him is completely oblivious to everything going on. Did I get anything wrong?

Yeah, the ending indicates that Him now knows that both his friend Big Boy likes Sophie and that Idol Girl either likes Big Boy or doesn’t like Sophie (which are both true, but it’s unclear what conclusion Him comes to, all he saw was Idol Girl throwing away Big Boy’s gift to Sophie)

I like coming back and rewatching this every so often, the song is good and i love the setup for the story! I was just thinking about how cool it is that by the end of the mv they really establish all the ways each character has little pieces of the whole story. Big boy knows that he likes sophie and that (correctly but in the wrong way) sophie doesnt return his feelings. Idol girl knows that she likes big boy and big boy likes sophie, but not that shes actually kinda helping sophie out with her jealous attempts to get between them. Sophie knows big boy is pursuing her and is deeply in love with Him, but worries idol girl also likes Him or at least fits with Him better and is completely in the dark that He is absolutely falling for her too. Its really fun too because He seems to know the most about the whole pocture here. He knows big boy likes sophie and doesnt want to hurt their friendship by pursuing sophie, but also now knows idol girl has some issue with either sophie or big boy liking sophie. The only blind spot He has is whether or not sophie likes Him too but He clearly thinks about her alot. As far as love squares tend to get set up this one is so well done and yet so simple in a way that is beautifully matched to the fact that this is a simple fun shorts series. the pieces are all carefully laid out and once things hit the ground have very visible easy ways to untangle- but will still be fun to watch how they land :)

I want to say "Thank god that I am older so I don't have to deal with this love triangle drama bullshit" but being adult doesn't mean your high school problems go away with maturity, it just gets dumber and more horrible with time. At first I felt bad for Big Boy, but after thinking about it, this might just be karma. I get doing it once or twice, but he's usually the one ruining Sophie’s plans with him. I don't like what Idol did, but I do think Big Boy needed to know how it feels to have your love plans ruined.

I know it's been said a few tines in the comments already but, I'd totally watch this if it was a cartoon or hell, read it if it was a full fledged comic. I like the set up of these four characters and the drama of their scattered love interests.

The love square lore : Sophie has a crush on "Him", Big boy used to have a crush on Sophie, Idol Girl has a crush on Big boy and is friends with "Him" and "Him" just got a crush on Sophie, and he thought Sophie and Big boy were dating until Idol Girl threw it away because of jealousy, breaking Big boy's heart in return because he thought Sophie threw it away. So now Sophie and "Him" have a crush on each other without each other knowing and Idol Girl has a crush on Big boy with him being heartbroken.
