The western strategies in the Chinese context was aimed at rapid westernization which would force liberalism & democracy from which the CCP had clearly ringfenced Chinese populace by effectively blocking Yankee influence. Ironically it's the Indian pseudo liberal who have brought up a generation more Yankees than the Americans..... The Americans strategy going forward would be insisting on transactional liberalism with most of the Chinese dealings for which its unclear if their corporate giant's market centric profit seeking cooperation would be sufficiently forthcoming ...... A prudent indian leadership can make optimal advantages if only there is clear vision & cooperation internally & genuine pragmatism amongst the influential diaspora.

But what bout India? Y is India still struggling? Thats the thing we the people nd govt should work on...

Good analysis but since technologically they have advanced a lot we need to be more careful in coming to conclusions. They have reached a stage where they feel superior to the US. This can only be understood by actually comprehending the development that has taken place in China and why they feel so emboldened of late. They are practically manufacturing most of the things and realize the dominating position. Since export base is strong money will keep coming in. So this space needs cautious monitoring and India will need to catch up in terms of technologies such as chip manufacturing etc.
