Welcome to Sa Calobra Road and let's explore its wonderful places together. Sa Calobra Road is located on the Balearic island of Mallorca in Spain and is one of the most scenic roads in the world. Sa Calobra Road can be found in the northwestern part of the island, east of Port de Sóller. The road passes through the Serra de Tramuntana mountain range and it is a great experience to drive along it by car or even by bike. Sa Calobra Road is a dangerous road full of switchbacks that measures 12 km. Sa Calobra Road winds its way through the rocky landscape and the road is very steep. The road is built without the use of tunnels, and a significant part of it has a gradient of more than 8%. The Sa Calobra Road (Ruta de Sa Calobra) was built in 1932 by hand, without the aid of machinery. The highest point of the road is at 682 m above sea level at the Coll dels Reis mountain pass. The most famous and famous part of the route is the Nus de Sa Calobra (Tie Knot), where there is a restaurant and the Mirador Coll dels Reis viewpoint. The tie knot is one of the most famous curves in the world, it turns 270 degrees and goes under itself. It is one of the most dangerous roads in Spain, a lot of bends, some sections do not have guardrails, there is heavy traffic in the summer and the road is narrow. The road surface becomes very dangerous and slippery on rainy days, slow driving is recommended. The road leads through several narrow canyons and many bridges and has more than 360 turns. The famous Cala Tuent beach is also nearby, which you can visit on the way back.
