ಸಂಕ್ರಾಂತಿ ಮುಖ್ಯವಾಗಿ ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಭಾರತದಲ್ಲಿ ಆಚರಿಸಲಾಗುವ ಒಂದು ಹಬ್ಬ. ಪೈರು ತೆಗೆಯುವ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಆಚರಿಸಲಾಗುವ ಸಂಕ್ರಾಂತಿ ಹಬ್ಬ ಸಮೃದ್ಧಿಯ ಸಂಕೇತ. ಸಂಕ್ರಾಂತಿಯನ್ನು ಧಾರ್ಮಿಕ ತತ್ವಗಳಿಂದ ಸ್ವತಂತ್ರವಾಗಿ ಆಚರಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆಯಾದರೂ ವೇದಾಂಗ ಜ್ಯೋತಿಷ್ಯ ಶಾಸ್ತ್ರದ ತಳಹದಿ ಹೊಂದಿರುವುದರಿಂದ ಮುಖ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಹಿಂದೂ ಧರ್ಮದವರಿಂದ ಆಚರಿಸಲ್ಪಡುತ್ತದೆ. ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ, ಆಂಧ್ರ ಪ್ರದೇಶ ಮತ್ತು ತಮಿಳುನಾಡುಗಳ ಮುಖ್ಯ ಹಬ್ಬಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಕ್ರಾಂತಿಯೂ ಒಂದು.
Sankranti is a festival mainly celebrated in South India. The Sankranti festival celebrated during the removal of pyru is a symbol of prosperity. Although Sankranti is celebrated independently of religious principles, it is mainly observed by Hindus because of its foundation in Vedanga astrology. Sankranti is one of the main festivals of Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.
