Thanks for watching! Don't forget to check out the Patreon, We have a new poll! First timers will get their first seven days on the Patreon for FREE! You'll then be asked if you'd like to join permanently. There are tiers to suit every budget from $1 a month to $12.40 (One of if not THE cheapest all-access tier out of all reactors!)
Patreon: www.patreon.com/user?u=80951505
At the moment I have so much content to do, I have ten tv series I’m reacting to simultaneously and about half of those are Patreon exclusives (clarksons farm/the accident/bottom) and I have a poll up which will take that number to 13, then there’s the Pentatonix fan club on Patreon that I have to make exclusive content for, and then there’s movies to do. And all that as well as Patreon requests. So right now it’s just whichever song I find first. But if you’d like me to do something immediately then you can make a formal paid request by sending £2 to my buymeacoffee page (other reaction channels charge $15-$50) and I will do it the same day!
to make a request for a reaction on the YT channel, just send a £2 donation at the link below! Request anything you like!

There’s the next father Ted reaction coming up, but that’s not all, “something” happens towards the end on the video (I’ve written in the title when exactly to look out for it) and it’s the funniest thing that’s ever happened, organically speaking, in one of my reactions EVER! You’re gonna pish yer frillies at this mate! 🤣🤣🤣🤣

The bus in the beginning, Hammersmith 82. Heavy Motörhead reference to "No sleep to Hammersmith". The man holding the photo of Lemmy were Motörheads tour manager Eddie Rocha and now he's Samsung Sabatons tour manager.

Lemmy wrote a masterpiece with this. Check out the original Motörhead song as well. It's even more heart wrenching in my opinion. RIP Lemmy legend!

Your reaction was that and more than I was hoping, thank you SO much mate. And yes, the names you saw in the credits were the names of actual solider who fought and died within The Battle of The Somme. I believe they were the ones who were identified but have no known living family today. All of Sabaton’s songs are based upon on war, specifically WW1 and 2. They make songs on battles, people and even famous vehicles, such as Bismarck. I will warn you now, not all their songs are like this one, most of them are much louder and faster. You have to remember they are a heavy metal band. If you wanna know how different they’re songs can be, I recommend listening to either: Ghost of The Trenches: About WW1 solider Francis Pegahmagabow, a Native American who fought for Canada. The Red Baron. The names says it all really. The Attack of The Dead Men. About the Battle For Osowiec Fortress. White Death. About Simo Häyhä, highly decorated Finnish solider which the highest kill rate to date. Unkillable Soldier. Sir Adrian Carton de Wiart, who died in 1963 after serving in the British Army through The Boer War, First World War, and Second World War Stormtroopers. About the German Infantry known as Blitzkrieg. They are very different from this song but I recommend checking them out. If you wanna know more about Osowiec Fortress, I recommend mend a video by KZfaqr MrBallen. I’ll send you the link to that video for you to do whenever you’re ready.

Panzerkampf, night witches, cliffs of galipoli, no bullets fly, gott mit uns are my faves... Cliffs of Galipoli is about the Australian and New Zealand army corp along with british, french, indians landed in Turkey...a sad story that took ao many lives in a short space in time. ANZAC Day is 25th April

No, the names of the soldiers are generally names of the dressed up soldiers parading in the beginning of the video, representing main characters of other Sabaton songs. Robert the Bruce (obviously wasnt in the battle of the Somme) features in Sabatons song "Blood of Bannockburn", telling the story of Robert the Bruce and the rebellion against the English. Leonidas (referring to King Leonidas of Sparta) is featured in two Sabatons songs, "Coat of Arms" and "Sparta". Sgt York is from the song "82nd all the way" about Sgt. Alvin York. Your next Sabaton song to react to as a Scotsman, if not Christmas Truce, is obviously Blood of Banockburn!
@YorkshiremanReacts26

I’m not a Scotsman, I’m a Yorkshireman, it’s literally the name of the channel. Also it was one of my Patreons who requested this and he’s given me a full rundown of all the bits Of information about this and one of them is that they were the names of real soldiers. As to which one I do next it’ll be down to him again or which one I choose for myself but I’m not able to take free requests at the moment due to how much content I’m doing right now. Over a dozen different tv shows, 7 of which are really popular so that takes up the week alone. And I’m also busy with Pentatonix content so it’ll be just every now and then unless a Patreon specifically requests it as Patreon requests are always done immediately (that’s one of the perks of paying for the Patreon.) or if someone makes a single paid request. I suppose just wait and see what happens.

all of Sabatons songs are about ACTUAL events and people in history that have left a major mark in history; so yes, the battle of the somme Did occur and all the extra's were representing different parts in history. hence why some were in full medieval armor, the different time periods of soldiers, some military others not but still had some effect in war etc. The, as i like to call, Franz Stieglar Incident,(No Bullets Fly), Nightwitches (my first song rec. by my brother and about the 588th, all woman, russian night bomber squad that struck terror into the hearts of the germans despite literally being outnumbered at almost almost 100,000/1 ratio for the enemy soldiers to just 1 of theirs.) shiroyama etc. (singing about the final stand of the samurai era at shiroyama and how there were 0 Samurai survivors by the end of it, hence ending the era of the samurai) all truly occurred and are real events/people.

I did some researching and found that all the names of the soldiers, knights and Spartans in the end were real people. Many of the soldiers were Medal of Honor, Silver Star, Victoria Cross or Croix de Guerre recipients. The soldier pulling himself out of the mud, at first I thought he was a member of "The Smoking Snakes" (Força Expedicionária Brasileira, FEB, nicknamed Cobras Fumantes), but doing some more research with the patch on his shoulder as well as his helmet, that's Sgt Henry Johnson of the 15th New York National Guard Regiment, aka "The Harlem Hellfighters". Medal of Honor recipient and recipient of French Croix de Guerre avec Palme, France's highest award for valor. The Medal of Honor was awarded to him in 2015. Sgt. Henry Johnson is "one of the five bravest American soldiers in the war." Theodore Roosevelt Jr. in his book "Rank and File: True Stories of the Great War" The Asian soldier with the cocked-hat, that's a Nepalese Gurka named Havildar Gurung (per the credits) who earn the Victoria Cross in the Burma campaign off WWII. Sgt Awal Nur, who did a secret mission over the Himalaya. Lt. Audie Murphy, Sgt. Alvin York are both medal of honor recipients from WWI (York) and WWII (Murphy). I also notice a soldier with the Croix Lorraine on what looks like a French flag arm band, meaning he was a member of the 'Forces françaises libres' forces in WWII. Doing some reading I found out that a large number of French colonial troops from territories such as Chad had joined with the 'Forces françaises libres'. I suspect that soldier is Lt Comba, but I can't find anything on him. As I've been working my way through the names listed in the credits and found another one: Private George Stringer, Manchester, Awarded the Victoria Cross at the Battle of Es Sinn in Mesopotamia. Capt. Dobson, 1st Canadian Infantry Battalion, Killed on 9 July 1916 in Flanders.

Yep, the youngest known was 12. They pulled him off the line and sent him home. We'll never know just how many underage men fought in that war. Strategically goals were 2 fold: The offensive was supposed to relieve pressure on Verdun which is was very successful at doing. Divisions that would have otherwise been used to break through at there were rerouted to the Somme to defend against the British assault. The second was the British wanting to break the German line. There were new artillery tactics created but very VERY few of the regiments were properly taught the new tactics. In the end it isnt out of the question to treat Verdun and the Somme as one battle which brings the casualty totals to even more staggering levels. The French lost 220,000 KIA at Verdun.

En livstid I Krig Live at gothenburg is a must watch for all sabaton fans. Be sure to turn on English subtitles as its in there mother tongue swedish. A bit of back ground its a story about a soldier in the 30 years war a war that took place in eastern europe in 1640s but the song itself in the swedish version hits everyone who has a soul and knows anyone who serves.

The battle of the Somme lasted 5 months the allies advanced 10 miles at a cost of roughly 600.000 casualties (if you include French casualties) German losses were roughly 450.000.

You are correct they are based on real soldiers. All of sabatons music as mentioned before tells historical events but they arent met to glorify war but to honor the dead that were sacrificed.
