This is an AMAZING song and a GREAT tale! I can't believe what I am seeing, but this is unlike anything Sabaton has ever done and its FANTASTIC!
The tale takes place on Christmas Day in the middle of World War 1 in the trenchers, where bullets fly, grenades explode and people are killing each other. And all of a sudden, one of the soldiers just walk up from the trenches, hands in the air. To make CHRISTMAS TRUCE.

German soldiers at that day started singing. "Stille Nacht Heilige Nacht" and the english at the other transh heard that and started to sing "Silent Night" too. War is only made by the higher ups for different things. But we are all humans Brothers and Sisters its such a shame that we sometimes forget that. Greetings from Germany.

Lest we forget and sadly we have, history repeats it self right now, but not going into that. This song was just amazing, powerful and the Piano makes it epic, Sabaton has done it again, amazing storytelling and an amazing video to deliver the story. Also tipping my hat to Sabaton for giving credits to everyone even down to the drivers that haul the gear.

Sabaton mastered this important piece of celebrating humanism in dark times and they put so much effort into the realization. I have to bow before them, again. A masterpiece what should be a part of history lesson in school.

This is one great piece of music here. Sabaton proves me right in my assumption, that some people are just made for music. Lately, I listen a lot to Russian music and realize, that Russians and Scandinavians both have a natural relation to classical music which distinguish them from the mainstream, no matter what their genre actually is. Another common thing is their feeling for dramatics, dramaticaly shown by Sabaton in this video. On the other hand, they definitively would have been court-martialed for those haircuts in uniform. Btw, Joakim without his glasses, look a little like you.

@@GivenToe I guess we can also add the celtic cultur (Irish/Scotish) to the adorable musicians. As I read, the new Sabaton album is only due next march, ouch. That means in November - ABBA, in December - Volbeat and (hopefully) Diana Ankudinova and nothing in sight for January and February, sigh!

I heard you say that Floor from Nightwish sang on the ending to this song so I came here and ..... OH BOY ... was I glad I did. Sabaton is amazing. Are they all like this. I hadn't heard of Nightwish or Sabaton until I listened to reaction videos. THANKYOU THANKYOU THANKYOU. I have never been a fan of heavy metal ( with some exceptions ) but these two bands together with ReinXeed are all amazing and, you're right, Scandinavian heavy metal is different from English and UK. Top bands

Loved your reaction. It looked just like mine, except for the me crying in the end. Maybe because it happened I found and watched a movie about Christmas Truce just few weeks ago. Vilken jävla låt asså! Släppte fan ett par tårar. Hade en jobbig dag på jobbet, men denna låt räddade dagen. Har lyssnat flera gånger redan. Och vilken jävla video. Hi, greetings from the Netherlands. I really enjoyed your reaction, as well as this song. I'm not too much into Christmas songs, but this one is an exception for sure. Adding to this, I'm a huge Nightwish fan and it wasn't difficult for me to recognize that angelic voice at the end. I'm sure you're familiar with Nightwish too, right? Well, I guess the best introduction to Nightwish live (they are at their very best LIVE) and Floor's voice, would be 'Ghost Love Score', live at Wacken 2013. It was performed in front of 82 000 people. There are epic and melodic songs, but they can also go really heavy on you and the next song could be very celtic sounding or even jazzy. So there's a lot to explore. Absolutely brilliant. Sabaton is much the same as Nightwish, in that they use music to tell the story and they are so damn good at it that it hits you hard every time. It should come as no surprise that Hannes, their drummer is husband to Floor Jansen whose angelic and operatic voice you hear at the end. Every Sabaton piece is a history lesson. Indeed, lest we forget, as there are those who as we speak are trying to erase our history and separate us from our past.
