I honestly respect the fact that Saboton sees no villains in World War 1, only heroes fighting to protect their loved ones back home.

The Germans had this look that was meant to scare and intimidate their opponents. In watching this I couldn’t help but think of Grandfather fighting Grandfather as I have Both English and German ancestry.

Author could use some scenes from "All quiet on the Western Front" (1930), some parts from this movie are almost indistinguishable from real footage.

You really can see where Tolkien gets that line he has Faramir say, "Enemy? His sense of duty was no less than yours I deem. I wonder now, who was he, where did he come from, what lies or threats led him from home and would he not rather have stayed there...in peace. War will make corpses of us all."
