You were supposed to watch this one: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/a7-AopurqdHaqWg.html The story of the Russian female pilots of the 588:th bomber regiment. Their nickname “Night Witches” comes from the characteristic sound of their bomb planes that was all that could be heard during their nightly raids since they set their engines to idle and would glide through the night to their target. This sound brought the enemies thoughts to the broomsticks of witches, and they called them “Nachthexen”.

This song is dedicated to Russian women pilots in WWII. They were given old planes (from WWI), so these women made strategy of shutting off their engines when get close to target, in that way they were "udetected, stelt perfected". Check some history, you will be surprised how many women took active part in both WW's!

Correction, dedicated to the all female night bomber regiment, the 588th, specifically.

Shutting the engine off had nothing to do with stealth. The PO-2 was so slow in flight that if they went into a power-on dive like a Stuka or Dauntless, the prop would overspeed and wreck the engine. The PO-2 also had no battery unless a radio was installed, so killing the engine meant losing the magnetos which powered the instrument lights. These ladies were literally going into shallow dives, at night, with no instruments. The stealth was a byproduct ;)

And then,in Russias victory parade after the war was over,Stalin wouldnt allow them to fly because their planes were too slow

There was no air unit at all at the 1945 victory parade. Stalin did not prohibit anyone from flying. This is a lie. No one flew. This is easy to check even with regular Google. Fantasia Sabato is unnecessary noise for nothing.@@ReaperZa23

You completely missed the message and context of this song, and only reacted to a portion of this video. Some might find this disrespectful for the brave Women of the 588 regiment

Well i guess the ones that find it disrespectful have a problem to deal with. How is it disrespectful to listen and react to a song wich they clearly liked. I also would hope that they reacted to the full story. But disrespectful, come on. We who knows the band from years back should respect that they find the band interesting. So we can give them info in the comments. In a friendly manner.

Those were no men those were women! I think you should react to their history video that explains the song or listen to the story format, and then listen to the song. I promise it will give better context to the song.
