Factual correction, it'd be more accurate say a Sherman battalion. Although the Sherman was vastly inferior until they made the "Easy 8", the Sherman was cheap to build so while Shermans were weak they won in numbers.

We have been training for years, now we are ready to strike, as the great operations begins We are the first place on shore, or the first ones to fall, yet soldiers have fallen before In the dawn they will pay, their lives as a price, history's written today In this burning inferno, where nothing remains, as the forces advance on the beach Pre-Chorus: Aiming for heaven, though serving in hell, victory is ours, thir for-ces will fall! Chorus: Through the gates of hell, as we make our way to heaven through the Nazi lines, Primo Victoria! On the 6th of June, on the shores of western Europe, 1944, D-Day upon us We have been here before, used to this kind of war, crossfire right to the sand Our orders were easy: It's kill or be killed!, Blood on both sides will be spilled In the dawn they will pay, their lives as a price, history's written today Now that we are in war with the axis again, this time we'll know what will come Pre-Chorus: Aiming for heaven, though serving in hell, victory is ours, thir for-ces will fall! Chorus: Through the gates of hell, as we make our way to heaven through the Nazi lines, Primo Victoria! On the 6th of June, on the shores of western Europe, 1944, D-Day upon us 6th of June 1944, Allies are turning the war, Normandy state of anarchy, Overlord Pre-Chorus: Aiming for heaven, though serving in hell, victory is ours, thir for-ces will fall! My grandfather also served in WWII, although in the nazi lines. Born in 26, he did the HJ from the moment on it became mandatory and his mom had the obligation to send him, although she didn't want to, and was but 17 when, at the very end of the war, I think around D-day, he was put in the Army. The day the ammies arrived, he was barely 18, a child with a gun, commissioned to guard a portion of a channel. I think they arrived in a jeep, and picked those poor frightened to death boys up, one by one. Well, some of his friends who resisted were killed. He has always told me he had thought he would die too, but one of the americans, 40-ish, walked towards him, snatched the gun from his hands, threw it in the water, and slapped him hard across the face. He then picked him up in the jeep, and he was taken prisoner in France for some months. Did the american man have a son that age ? Did one of his younger comrades die that day/week ? Did he find it absurd that such young boys were sent to war ? Why didn't he killed him ? We won't ever know. My grandfather once told me that he was grateful not to have been sent to the east of the country, where the russians came. He lost all of his friends that were on that side, as russians killed way easier than americans. After his liberation, he studied theology, and became a pastor, and created a program that is still done in german schools, where scientists, doctors and religious people all come at once in a school to talk with the students about whatever they want to talk about. He died swimming in one of his favourite lakes a bit more than three years ago, I guess kinda like your uncle, at the age of almost 88. I miss him.

Let me tell you a story. In 2005 I bought a ticket to the Gates of Metal festival. I had been there before, and it was a great festival. But my brother and a few friends backed out, and it turned out that I was the only one left with the intention to go. So there I sat, on my front porch, contemplating. Should I try to sell my ticket on the internet and stay home with the other "metalheads" (fuc*-n enomous qoutation marks) or go anyway? Well, I had talked to a bunch of people over the internet who was going, so I thought F it, i'm goin'. So I packed my car with tent n' beer. Grabbed my bag and went in to the camping area alone, anticipating to find someone I recognized. And sure I did. And every single boombox at that camping was playing Sabaton. At least the ones within hearing distance. As for the ones out of hearing distance, I could still hear people screaming "Primo Victoria". I saw Dark Tranquillity from the entrance of the tiny scene Sabaton was going to play on, and there was a crowd building up already. I almost had to fight my way to the front even if I was one of the first in. And what a gig... I met Pär Sundström afterwards, and he was all up around the clouds. Well, that was the fist time I saw Sabaton. (And a great thanks to Lars B and the others at the samhallsfest)

So they released the "Primo Victoria" Swedish premium medium tank in World of Tanks a long time ago. It even has the band members as the crew. So I finally looked up the song and damn it I'm glad I did! This song gives me chills! What's even better is that I'm in the "D-Day" clan in WoT, and our clan emblem is the invasion stripes. So this is the perfect theme song :)

A good portion of the people posting here need to go back to Stormfront, and another portion need to go back to Tumblr. Maybe we should all just shut the fuck up and enjoy the music.

Mikael Mäenpää Depends on how you look at it I guess. It makes me sad since listening to a CD of them isn't as fun but seeing them live was the best show I've ever seen and that was awesome. I guess that also means theyre a lot more talented than most because they play every bit as well (if not better) live while a lot of bands can't play their music live because there is so much editing (like Studioforce a.k.a Dragonforce for a blatant example). Love Sabaton though \m/^_^\m/
