yes, always watch the History Channel of each song, it will give you more in depth detail about the song, then the song itself

The "Race to the Sea" was a series of flanking maneuvers executed by the Allied forces and the German Empire, they outflanked each other so much that they were racing to see who would make it to the sea first. The Belgians stopped the Germans by flooding the dam/ river.

Basically the royal army opened the sea walls and flooded a 22 mile stretch of river and canal between the towns of Nieuwpoort and Diksmuide resulting in the river swelling to over a mile wide meaning the only remaing hopes for the combant armies being the first battle of ypes taking place at the same time further south which resulted in a stalemate and about 4 years of trench warfare

@@DaneBramageROCKS I discovered them in 2012 with the Carolus Rex album. The Swedish version was huge in Sweden at the time. At that time I had a lot of catching up to do, 10+ years of songs to be exact. I can only imagine how overwhelmed a person discovering them now must feel. In a good way of course but still.

Great reaction!🤘 I love their latest album. Every song has its own unique style and they're all awesome. I've been listening to it a lot! And of course I watch the History Channel as well, as the history buff I am.😉 You're right about Sabaton not having any bad songs. At least I havent found one yet.. ☺️

This is one of their best songs, but it is accompanied by one of their worst Sabaton history videos, as their historian haven´t seen the song before making his video, resulting in a total mess where he basically speaks about totally different things than what is sung in that song.
