Historically, all the men here showed amazing bravery. The English, because they were outnumbered by something like 20:1 and had no apparent reinforcements coming. It was just them, moderate ammunition and their will and discipline against a horde of hostile enemies. The Zulu because (even though they were quite imperialistic themselves towards fellow Africans), they fought against whom they perceived to be a foreign invader with far greater advanced technology and training, they threw themselves into the fire of the fight without hesitation. That takes balls. Whatever you think of the situation and war as a whole, all of the men involved showed valour and bravery.

Fuck yeah. I'm a soldier now, and I wouldn't envy the boys on either side for their task then, but I do envy them for their bravery and morale. Nobody met their maker wanting that day. They met Him like men should.

Funfact: the people inside of the medical building only lost 2 people even though they were technically separated from friendly lines. They fought their way out and rejoined the main group.

Не согласен. Герои - это бесспорно. Но вот про то что они "Люди с большой буквы" я бы поспорил. Их ни кто не звал в Африку. Вождь Кечвайо до последнего пытался сохранить мир. Но он мешал плану по объединению всей Южной Африки под властью Великобритании в составе Южно-Африканской конфедерации. Результат - ультиматум и вторжение. Ну а потом как всегда. Разделяй и властвуй. Герои - бесспорно да, но как люди, полное говно.

@@jrobson100 That take ignores so much of history, though, especially all the prior centuries when Europe was ravaged by forces from North Africa, the Middle East, and East Asia, who held military and resource advantages over them. Europe just kept playing the empire game and eventually came out on top when they finally gained the upper hand in technology and tactics.

@@kimberleyjones949 thats untrue, even if the british had an 100% acurracy, btw it was like 20%, the zulus would still have reached their lines with an 8 to 1 advantage. British colonial strategy and bravery won that day.

The topic is really controversial because the British broke a treaty and entered zulu land And the zulus were more barbaric For example Killing the injured And trying to invade a hopistal The zulus started the first battle which had triggered the Brits

@@ExysterI wouldn't call the killing of the injured, or attacking hospitals barbaric. More like... strategical. The injured would slow you down, and waste your own resources, especially the crippled, or those who cannot battle, or are in horrible condition. And Hospitals are almost always a hotspot for enemy troops (Such as Rorke's Drift, a hospital, but it was filled with Red Coats) which sort of helps in war, ye know?

Могу смотреть бесконечно. Единственный раз англичане пришли на землю Русскую и отгребли. Советую еще раз зайти. Полякам не предлагать, они уже пошли на четвертый раздел. I can watch endlessly.
