The song is actually about the life guards (swiss guards) of the pope which held against sacking French soldiers during the Sack of Rome 1527. Nothing about crusading or killing infidels lol

it's a song about the great sacking of Rome in 1527 where a whole army of mercenaries who weren't paid for their service rebelled against the holy roman empire and ransacked the treasures of Rome and also threatened to kill the pope at the time who was under guard at vatican city by the swiss guard who escorted the pope along a secret passage way out of the city and to safety until things settled down.

Just letting people know. This song is about the sacking of Rome in 1527 where 189 members of the Swiss Guard gave their lives holding off an attacking horde so that the Pope could escape. Not the Crusades as many people seem to believe.

i think most of the songs in that album would work this well ( maybe excluding shiroyama.) if i had to guess as to why that might be i would say they are written and tuned to be a equally a campfire tale or rallying call since the whole theme of that album was final stands.
