Stay strong. I am 52 and just stopped celebrating all the holidays 6months ago, confusing my 2 boys aged 25 and 27 and also offending my mother in law that I love with. I now get chided, for not celebrating these holidays, but only Biblical holidays that we have been told to hold perpetually. No matter how many things I read to her, she says only Newsmax and the Catholic Church are to be trusted. I am now considered a heathen and made fun of. "You don't know what you are missing" , I am told. I try not to offend her, and do all I can to help her around the house, and even observe no meat on Friday to please her. But God is good . If he rose on Saturday the 7 day he had to of been killed on Thursday the 5 day and rested friday the 6 day. This is not scripture.

That is a fair point. However I would say that the Sunday keepers and the "all days are alike" crowd are all drinking from the same cup. Concerning Romans 14:5 A good example of taking a passage out of context is this verse. Paul is not speaking about the Sabbath at all but about fasting. The other subject of the chapter is vegetarianism (see verses 2-3). He writes, “For one believes that he may eat all things: another, who is weak, eats herbs.” Then in verse 3 Paul admonishes that eating or not eating is up to the individual. The Bible in Basic English translates verse 3 this way: “Let not him who takes food have a low opinion of him who does not: and let not him who does not take food be a judge of him who does; for he has [Elohim’s] approval.” The issue of keeping a Sabbath of rest does not even enter into this passage. What is being discussed in verse 5 is the practice of some who choose one day over another to fast. The next verse (6) shows that some people placed one day over another in their devotion to fasting. (“He that eats, eats to Yahweh, for He gives Yahweh thanks.”) The problem was, some in the Assembly at Rome were being judged for doing so. Paul entreats us not to judge one another regarding eating or not eating, v. 13. The summation of the chapter is in verses 20-21: “For meat destroy not the work of [Elohim]. All things indeed are pure; but it is evil for that man who eats with offence. It is good neither to eat flesh, nor to drink wine, nor any thing whereby your brother stumbles, or is offended, or is made weak.” Nothing in this entire chapter speaks of observing a Sabbath day. The truth is, Scripture doesn't support Sunday as the Sabbath or "all days are alike". There is just the weekly Sabbath and the Feasts.

Thanks for the comment! Lets put some context to these often times confusing verses. "Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Messiah. " but the body is of Messiah - The word "is" is omitted. The passage correctly reads, "but the body of Messiah." Only those in Messiah have the authority to judge when it comes to keeping sacred appointments, being schooled in their proper observance (1Cor. 5:12-13; 6:5). Also, are a shadow - not were a shadow, as found in some modern translations. These days prophetically anticipate the fulfillment of Yahweh's grand design. These verse have nothing to do with avoiding The Sabbath, feasts or new moons. Rather it is Paul encouraging those in the congregations to be strong in Yahweh's word and not let those Jews (and gentiles) around them pull them away from the faith. The Sabbath is a blessing to all whom observe it. The truth is, the Sabbath is a sign between Yahweh and his people. Ezekiel 20:12

No where in scripture do we find that the Messiah rose on Sunday. Also, "The Lords Day" is never in reference to Sunday. It is in reference to the Day of Yahweh which is called:" Zephaniah 1:14-18 Near is the great day of Yahweh, Near and coming very quickly; Listen, the day of Yahweh! In it the warrior cries out bitterly. A day of wrath is that day, A day of trouble and distress, A day of destruction and desolation, A day of darkness and gloom, A day of clouds and thick darkness, A day of trumpet and battle cry Against the fortified cities And the high corner towers." Isaiah 13:9-11 Behold, the day of Yahweh is coming, Cruel, with fury and burning anger, To make the land a desolation; And He will exterminate its sinners from it. For the stars of heaven and their constellations Will not flash forth their light; The sun will be dark when it rises And the moon will not shed its light. Thus I will punish the world for its evil And the wicked for their iniquity; I will also put an end to the arrogance of the proud And abase the haughtiness of the ruthless. Isaiah 24:21-22 So it will happen in that day, That Yahweh will punish the host of heaven on high, And the kings of the earth on earth. They will be gathered together Like prisoners in the dungeon, And will be confined in prison; And after many days they will be punished. There are many many more. Unlike what is taught in churches around the world, the "Lords Day" is NOT a time of worship and it is certainly not SUNDAY. The Sabbath was established from the very beginning. It remains forever. THAT is what scripture says.

Sabbath means "rest"...ceasing from regular labor. In many languages, Saturday is Shabbat, Sabado, Sabato...etc. They all mean rest...the "7th Day of the week's which God created for this purpose, and enjoining fellowship and worship with Him . No where in the Bible does it say to worship God on Sunday, the 1st day of the week, and the day of the pagan worship of the sun god. We have a symbol of the resurrection...which is baptism...the death, burial, and resurrection to a new spiritual life in Christ. The 10 Commandments (not 10 suggestions) are God's eternal moral law and regulates His Government. The 4th Commandment tells us to keep the 7th Day Holy and to "remember " it, a command that almost the whole world has forgotten. If you want to obey Christ, keep His Seventh Day Holy, and turn around from keeping the 1st day holy. If you continue, you will be in rebellion to God's Word and His Holy Law. It's all about who you will worship...either Satan and Constantine's edic and mandate of 1st day pagan worship given around 321 AD and perpetuated by the Papacy, or worship of the One True God on the 8th Day. This starts according to the Bible on Friday evening at sunset, and ends on Saturday evening at sundown.

Of course, read Genesis 1. The Sabbath started after day 6 of creation. It was the Roman church that changed the day of worship many years after the Messiah.

The calendar we have today is a far cry from the Biblical calendar. Months have been added, names of gods overlayed and mans celebrations superimposed over all of that. We try not to "Bash" or condemn anyone as we are all on our own walk. However we are told in scripture to prove all things and hold fast to that which is good 1 Thessalonians 5:21. If someone claims to believe in the Bible and follows what it says and there is an error, it is up to us to correct it, the same is true for us. If we are wrong we rely on those around us to prove it and correct the error. Not saying anything simply to avoid offending someone is not helpful. Then both are in error and neither one can grow.

The Apostle Paul is warning believers not to allow those outside the faith to sway them from their worship of Yahweh, as rooted in the OT, including in the keeping of His appointed days (Lev. 23). As this is EXACTLY what was happening back then. In verse 14 Paul tell you what he is talking about. ordinances - derived from the Greek word [dogma], meaning, "a civil, ceremonial or ecclesiastical law." This verse is not referring to the OT Commandments, which are not against man but are good for him (Deut. 6:24; 10:12-13; Rom. 7:12), but to man-made traditions and commandments that were contrary to Yahweh's Law (verse 22). The Colossians were being influenced by an extreme form of Judaism and the beginnings of Gnosticism (Col. 2:20-23). Again NOT Mosaic law, but man made law that they had imposed on the people. There was NEVER one standard for Israel and another for the Gentiles. EVER. Even in the OT there was to be "one law for Israel and for Gentiles (Leviticus 24:22). "you have been tricked by the Devil in believing a false gospel rather than the pure gospel in Jesus Christ and Him alone for one's salvation.
