My opinion is: If Kingship depends on the recognition of that Kingship by anyone other than the subjects of that King, then by definition that king can not be a King because the King then becomes a subject of the person that must recognize him. Ramaphosa and the ANC is playing with fire here. This very principle is playing out in Australia now, where the Australian people thought they were a sovereign nation for the last 40 years, and it now turns out that they have been hoodwinked, and are under the control of the British King today. South Afrika under apartheid freed all South Africans from the colonial oppressive British King on 31 May 1961, It is the reason for the hatred of what they and the ANC called "apartheid" even when ALL black people were given independence by the then Nationalist Government. The Zulu tribe would have been and was free to be ruled by there own chosen King. That is why British colonial puppet Ramaphosa MUST make it clear to the Zulu Nation that who-ever is the Zulu King, is only king because he ( and his British Colonial paymasters ) say so, and that is the exact same fight developing in Australia now today.. the British colonialists,. Ramaphosa and the ANC have absolutely nothing to do with the Zulu Royal House and the Nationalist government always respected that.! We all expect the Zulu nation to stand their ground. the ownership of their land literally depends on it.

You are right. The issue is that all traditional leaders in South Africa are recognized under an act of traditional leaders. So lawmakers made it that way. You can be a King of your people - but if you are not recognized by the Government you will not get financial support. Btw I support the current King - King Misuzulu. Bayede!!!!

@rudolf thank you , ...your insights and wisdom are a breath of fresh air...What makes a Zulu Nation strong is our sense of identity. Identity is knowing who you are... this will determine how other people treat and respect you. Kingdoms are the true government in this country. Leaders are never elected in Africa they are born. Kings are not "traditional leaders" they are fathers of nations. Kings give nations power to own and inherit land and other means of production. Kings should not be dependent on the state stipend, they are not children of the State or President... This ANC democracy continues to give us "leaders" who come and go every 5 years, their focus is self preservation through individual acquisition of state assets and money. As for the people of this country, they have lost their identity, they don't know who they are...they don't respect themselves, hence they continue to support this weak democratic system...

Prince Misuzulu would be a King if King Goodwill Zwelithini, did not do the rite of "ukufaka umntwana esiswini", which he did by taking Prince Simakade, who is older than Prince Misuzulu, and affiliated him to the homestead of Queen Mantombi, which is another way a future King is Identified! So the late King, by doing what he did, means, he was clear with who should follow after him, and without looking at all of those issues and just stick to favoritism, will kill the Zulu Kingdom, which is currently KINGLESS at the moment, and let's allow the family to fight among themselves up until they decide who should be the King, and we should all respect the decision by the Royal Family! No political rush is needed, Ramaphosa must rest!

Unlike European laws of succession, in SA the successor to the king(heir) is not born but handpicked by the King. King Zwelethini handpicked Prince Simakade, his first born to be his heir. Marital status of parents at the time the firstborn was born is not a criteria only bloodline, as long as the firstborn is from the seed or loins of the king he or she becomes the heir. Unlike in European royal lines of succession where marital status at birth of the firstborn is a decider. Where the child is born out of wedlock, but the King recognizes the child and bring the child into the first wife's kraal, the child is legitimised as heir. If the child is also the firstborn of the king, that child becomes the eventual king. Simakade is the firstborn, his father the late King Zwelethini legitimised him as his heir apparent. This situation with Prince Misuzulu(the younger brother to Misuzulu) is just to cause confusion and instability. He himself knows he is not the rightful heir hence he always looks depressed. Let Zulu culture prevails and let civil courts stay out of it.

I speak for myself, I believe the Zulu's should be a Sovereign Nation State and Independent from South Africa with their own Justice System, Education, Taxation, Health but should belong to the Common Wealth of South African nations under one Military, so we don't become a threat to each other because at the end of the day we are all spread out over the whole country.

The issue here is that there's an attempt to suggest that the Royal family is at liberty to identify anyone as the King. The Royal family is bound by custom, in other words should the decision be in contrast with the custom, that decision is reviewable!

I found it difficult for Adv Mantuli to support the western laws whereby he is claiming to promote Africanism and hate everything done by Ramaphosa as affiliated to ANC... He is biased in terms of him favouring Prince Simakade and they feel like King Misizulu is captured....hence he is supporting prince Thokizani's sentiments.

King Misuzulu KaZwelithini did not force the Zulu kingdom to pay lobola for his mother..., for him to be born, for him to be a true Royal heir to uplift the Royal Zulu thone. the zulu kingdom did that.

This birth right theory is the one that made him disrespect every elder in the Royal Family including his late father King Zwelithini Zulu, the birth right made him think it's ok to be a Cocaine addict, also made him think it's ok to impregnate a child of his uncle and impregnate another one who is a child of his aunt. There is a section in the Act in question which speaks to the behavior of the nominee. It will be interesting to see how the Royal Family resolves this matter. Me all I'm saying is be very careful how you behave towards your family that's all, especially when they are empowered by legislation to make decisions like do you sit on the throne or not.

Maybe according to you and the MisuZulu camp it's only about the so called birth right 😂😂😂 I hope MisuZulu camp keeps up with that argument they will never win a single court case. The law is the law and it's clearly spelled out in black and white that the Royal Family points out the one who will sit on the throne, unfortunately for MissZulu he thought it's his birth right so he obliterated relationships with the Royal Family without thinking that the very same people will have powers to decide who sits on the throne. Very important life lesson, isihlahla asibhoshelwa, this rule applies to every one including those who think they have birth rights to things.

In a clear understanding and the facts known, we should not buy into any opportunistic statements. Customarily, king or chief is born from Great wife, the wives of the king are not equal. A heir may only come from other wives sons provided the great wife couldn't bore the heir. Thus, when first son is born from great wife, on the same day is known and declared the heir is born, from birth is known that there will be no deliberation over his ascending. AS as have said only upon being no heir from great wife, only then council or royal house may sit down to decide who to pick from other wives. If the heir pass on, order of sequence will be his younger brother if any from his mother being great wife before looking in the houses of his father. It so disturbing on what zulu is going, people we are not honest we are busy blaming Cyril over this. Let every tell who is great wife among the wives, that will an ultimate answer. First wife is not great wife, the two differ, everyone in the zulu royal knows that better, we should be here if well refer to that only and leave all the excuses.

After watching how King Shaka was installed...i can tell who is the King of amaZulu now .......Shakas mother was from Royal family and Misuzulu mother from Swazi royal family...then according to traditions...u become a King once ur Mother is from another Royal Family.....so u can talk a lot ...Zimakede doesn't qualify...chech the history on how Zulu Kings were installed on the Throne

Thokozani is a big joke......His group wants Smakade who was born of wedlock wafakwa esiswini....in another interview was asked "So, does it mean he was adopted by Queen MaNtfombi? Thozani said" no we dont have that term adoption in our zulu culture...I laughed. They took this to western court, so we can safely say ukufakwa esiswini is to adopt a child. Smakade was adopted by Queen MaNtfombi. How can he be a king?
