Zapiro even had a damning caricature about the 1994 general election outcome in the Western Cape. Go read what Hernus Kroel and Izack De Villiers said about coloured people who by the way returned the National Party to power in 1994 because they followed Pieter Marais, Gerald Morkel etc. A people who have suffered longer than most under white supremacy and are still suffering under it who then reward their oppressors with the power to continue their oppression. If you have a PHD you have a Doctorate degree. Thats Dr Boesak qualifications which he earned - it's not a fake PHD like some people buy via the back door.That title remains with you. Anyone however can insist to be address by his first name if he so wish and not by his title.

You could be under the impression that only a MD's ( Medical Doctor ) are called Doctor - A medical degree is a vocational degree ( like a teaching degree ) and is not equivalent - but below a PHD ( Doctorate ) degree .Any person who obtained his PHD studied for many years- 1st Bachelors, Honours, Master and finally PHD - which is called a Doctor of Philosophy . The reason people with PHD qualifications are called DR - its an academic qualification and title. A PHD is a research qualification( Dr Boesaks was theology) that represents the pinnacle of academic qualification. . With this qualification people are refered to academics and you find most are lectures at universities - they also employed in the private sector . MD- Medical Doctor who study to PHD level and who are employed at universities are called professor who teach medical students . Although Dr Boessk is a reverend- he obtained the academic title Dr. When you have a PHD and you employed fulltime at a university you are called a professor. If you not employed fulltime but lecture at the university you called DR.

Thabo Mbeki actually wrote a letter to DP Paul Mashatile about how ANC had dealt with Phala-phala matter in how it defend Ramaphosa from accounting to parliament over the same letter. Letter by Mbeki was very scathing. Google it.
