All those organizations are listening to the Media and doing things the wrong way. When the Quarterbacks gets drafted high we start hearing put them under center, look at the Justin Field situation now in Pittsburgh, he should sit this year and watch and learn from Russ and come out next year and show what is what. Yet we have the media asking for Quarterbacks to be like Mahomes and if you are not you are a scrub and then turn around and say oh develop, pick one side and stay with it, cause it can’t be both way. Jalen Hurtz was under Carson Wentz, the same way Mahomes was under Smith as Quarterbacks coming in. So yes they should sit and the owners, GM and so on need to stop cause of hype they go paying a bunch of QBs and when they stink it’s their fault, systems plays a factor in finding the right QB to match with the coach. The Media Is to blame for all the Young QBS careers going down hill.
@PapaLobo94

I can definitely Stephen A.’s point about how running backs are being devalued year after year by the NFL, but unfortunately, EJ is right when it comes to the NFL mismanaging quarterbacks in general. The problem is a lot of these teams are drafting quarterbacks in the first round with super high expectations and not many of them are able to handle that challenge off the bat. They’re tossed to the wolves within the first couple of games and they eventually become busts within a season or two. Sitting on the bench to learn from the guy who’s already ahead of them is actually a very smart approach so that way they know the offense and are comfortable leading when the time is.
@michaelordones9059

So every team has the right system to make every QB great? Oh I didn’t know that. I guess I should be more tough on rookie QB’s since it’s all on them. No coaches or franchise can’t ever be bad enough to make a QB play terrible. It’s the easiest position! Thanks Stephen A for making that clear from a all time athlete

According to ESPN 11 of 12 footballs were underinflated...same network...so for Mina (who I respect) using the data point that it was Kraft calling Blank as the reason that Kraft was petty. That data point might not even be factual. So she and Woody need to cool the rhetoric until more facts emerge because....ESPN has a history and it ain't pretty.

Yep the NFL has indeed mismanaged QB’s and this even goes back to Derek Carr and Joey Harrington days when they were thrown to the wolves with no talent or offensive line to help them and in other organizations it still applies there as the coaches and higher ups are so DESPERATE to find the next Brady or Mahomes there’s only one of those players ever! QB’s do need time to develop and adjust into the playbooks and systems while reading the NFL coverages because it’s different than college. Zach Wilson, Justin Fields, Drew Locke and others come to mind as they were ruined by the organizations that took them!

This point needs to be hammered going forward. Retread and re-hire coaches who haven’t had significant or maintained success shouldn’t continue to get opportunities. Yup, this is why Kimberly shouldn’t even be allowed to talk about a sport she knows little of. You get drafted in the first round for a reason. You are supposed to be the most talented among your peers, ready to hit the ground running. If they have to develop you then they drafted you way too high. You get paid more the higher you get drafted, teams mishandle players all the time but the bears traded back and added talent. Fields still couldn’t throw the bal consistently

I'm late to this party but IMO, Belichick is a hypocrite. Belichick expects EVERYONE ELSE to be accountable and team driven so, WHY ISN'T HE??!! It's abundantly clear that Belichick is a brilliant Narcissist. He's the best defensive mind the game has ever seen, but he has NO respect for offense and offensive players, and NO respect for the Owner that employs him. He has repeatedly undermined what was best for the team while claiming otherwise. Sitting Malcolm Butler in SB 52 threw ALL Players under the Bus! How was that best for the TEAM?! Players are human and all different. It's a HC duty to manage personalities and CREATE an atmosphere of SUCCESS for overall TEAM benefit! Ruining the starting QB consciously or unconsciously because he isn't "your guy" is Textbook NARCISSISM and absolutely NOT what is “BEST” for the TEAM! Belichick does what is best for his EGO! He may have cut his football teeth under Navy Athletics, and he may THINK he runs a team modeled on the military, but he does NOT! He FORGOT that EVERY serviceman swears an oath and is accountable to a higher authority! The Admiral or General, may not agree with or even respect The President, but it's their duty to their country to follow orders and to NEVER undermine or subvert “The Boss” or the MEN under their command. Belichick should never again be trusted with a HC position. He's borderline megalomaniacal, and a cancer in any position of authority. I would hire him as a DC with very minimal authority only. IMO, players were willing to endure the "Belichick Way" because they believed TB12 ensured a legitimate SB shot year after year. Yes, the defenses were equally important to the repeated success, but The GOAT was the GLUE that held it all together. When the glue dissolved, it unsurprisingly fell apart.

@@Bman32x the former… but you can extrapolate that to ANY position in football. a take average WR with a ELITE qb, great Oline, run game to force the safeties into box, and defence to get stops… that guy will FAR exceed his talent in that circumstance or take a average pass rusher. on a team with other great rushers to draw double teams, an elite secondary causing the QB to hold the ball, and a offence that always scores forcing the opposition to constantly throw the ball…. that’ “average” pass rusher is going to far exceed his sack numbers than he would in a typical system.
