Hello there, The answer is yes you can register. However, you will need to meet some requirements. As stated on the website "All academically qualified and professionally unqualified applicants will be registered with a condition to complete a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) within a period of two years. Failure to submit the PGCE to Council within the said period will result in cancellation of registration. NB: This disclaimer excludes anyone registered under special category" Meaning you should have already completed an undergraduate degree and intending to complete a PGCE. You can apply today! Look a PGCE is usually a year or two or three if you fail a module. You are eligible to apply today just make sure you have all the necessary documentation to apply. Once approved, you will get a Provisional SACE registration valid for a year, but you can renew it in the upcoming year if you will still be studying. Hello there, the provisional SACE is valid for two years and I'd say apply in your 2nd/3rd year as I'm assuming your degree is 4 years long. The great thing about it is that you will be able to apply for assistant teacher posts and stand a better chance of appointment, which is great experience before fully qualifying. I got mine as quick as two weeks and I’ve also had a time where I waited for 2 months because apparently the paper to print the police clearance was not available. It really just depends hey… but I’d say apply for it ASAP

Remember that if you've already registered your email it will decline. Remember the South Africa e-Services Portal offers many services besides the SACE registration, maybe you've registered before for something else and you've forgotten.

Hello there, Once you've made your application and made the payments. The certificate will be sent to you via email. You don't download it. That's for the provisional certificate. As stated in the video for the official fully qualified teacher's certificate. I got mine at the SACE offices in Centurion. SACE has offices in every province though.

I don’t think you can cancel the process once you’ve started it. However, call the SACE number to check with them

online it should be less than 2 weeks provided you've submitted all required documents
