What he wanted is less important than what he executed. Choking in the final can't be resolved by fielding upgradation, young brigade, captain change, order change, God like image. One has to do Ricky Ponting, Arvind D Silva, Yuvraj Singh or Clive Lloyd.

@@mrdaman99 No, super star culture is built by fans. How can selectors or coaches break it. Again, Super star culture is prevalent in all countries but their evaluation may be different. These are the false narratives only. When a player fail to play as per situation /demand, we casually blame super star culture or selfishness. In fact, they lack skill and patience to handle the situation.

Raina was a gem in the middle order...he was great finisher...always performed when his team needed him the most...Dhoni and Himself had some great partnerships...I really appreciate him unconditionally...no doubt aa great player ...but I guess was ignored at the end of his career...

Except Yuvi & Kaif all were terrible fielders, sab wk dusre ko ungli dikhate the. Aussie fielders saved so many runs in wc23. Few days ago Hardik asked Rohit to stand near boundary line & Rohit overreacted & instigated his fans to bash Hardik, Virat is a great fielder at boundary, Shami Ran behind ball when he was playing with injection. So If you can't field & don't wanna improve why r u a part of the team u should take retirement. Once Clark was heavily criticized for dropping two catches in slip, Indians ke liye toh roj ki baat hai drop karna😒

Neither it is maturity in believing greg was right, nor was it mature of greg to do what he did. A coach has to understand the basic idea that not all countries, cultures and teams are same. Every team has its strength and weaknesses and the job of the coach is to use the team's strengths to win. Pakistan was rarely batting strong, so they use their bowling to win. Whereas if you see t20 world cups, west indies used their strength in batting to win twice, even when their bowling was average. Similarly Aus NZ are fielding greats. Indian players cannot suddenly wake up one day and be better fielders. The players he was coaching, Sachin Dravid Sourav Sehwag VVS Kumble Harbhajan, were all brought up in eras where fielding was ignored, hence their fielding did not develop much in their growing up years, they cannot suddenly start fielding good for 2007 wc. Same way sachin, an attacking batsmen by nature who always opened in ODIs, cannot suddenly start playing in the middle order and deliver the same result. Coaches have to make the team play to their strengths. See how Gary kirsten came and put back the legendary opening pair of sachin sehwag.
