I read this Samm Quinn guy's article last night talking about this DeRozan trade. He talked trash throughout the whole article giving the Kings a grade of 'D' in this trade. He absolutes hates this trade and hates the Kings as well.

It’s about the fit and spacing demar works the mid-range so does Fox and sabonis likes to have the ball and playmake they now have to give demar his touches and he also likes to dominate the ball at certain points so the fit itself is what’s in question spacing got worse with monk as well good wing player but demars defense is not elite nor great

The problem with Demar is that he is a ball dominant player. He needs the ball in his hands and isn't a good defender. Has to play in the half court set. He might help them with his mid range game when the team isn't dropping 3s but doesn't really move them up much.

This does have the benefit of allowing Fox to focus a bit more on defense. He played great defense at times last year, but it’s a lot to ask him to go all out on offense and defense all the time.

Defense is individual effort. You need a pride that says "you aren't scoring on me" as much as when you say "you can't stop me" on offense EFFORT!

Offense was still a problem with the Kings kast year regardless of the stats, most of that was bc of pace and having a deep rotation. At the end of the day the Kings struggled to find a 2nd consistent scorer on a game to game basis outside of Fox and the offense got very stagnant at times relying on Fox to do it all. No one else on the roster is/was a 20+ per game scorer that could give you 30+ on any given night besides Fox. This was needed and with Demar's age it doesn't come at an expensive price. But, having another scorer thay can go and get a bucket or get to the line at will is going to be helpful for whenever the offense may not be flowing and you need a guy who is a dog to get it back on track. Fox got burned out from doing it over and over towards the middle to end of the season. He was averaging 30+ the first few months and then you could see the fatigue getting to him. This will help a lot with that.

“Dallas is a clear top 4” … my guy, they had the same record as the Kings prior to monk and Huerter going down last year… they made the finals and got smoked, they way overperformed… they aren’t a top 4 team if even with the ghost of Klay Thompson. Denver lost KCP, clippers lost PG, warriors got worse, Nola is about to show everyone how important role players are and probably losing BI

Demar is a better all around scorer and shooter than fox. Thank the BASKETBALL GODS. A player I can depend on to make FREE THROWS. Fox won't have to chuck up 25 shots anymore, I hope. Midrange. ALL THE GREAT SCORERS THROUGHOUT NBA HISTORY are midrange masters. KD. Kobe. MJ. Steph Curry can operate in the midrange. Devin Booker. Kawhi. Embidd. So on. Not fox. He sucks at the midrange. Terrible. His terrible stup!d turn around jumpshots. And fox is always GOING LEFT. Terrible. Because most of the time, a 14-15 foot jumpshot is the BEST SHOT during YOU NEED A BUCKET.
