@@JonSmith-hk1bq I think he was more referring to how the results of the season were altered forevermore due to the results of March 11, 2020. After all, can we assume the Lakers would have been official champions this past season if it were like any other regular season? I know my favorite team, the Phoenix Suns, were forever altered (oddly enough for the better) because of the virus causing us to play in the 2020 NBA Bubble for a short, resumed regular season before it turned into an 8-0 Bubble run for Phoenix that ended with them eventually getting Chris Paul and suddenly being a potential championship contender this season. If we did continue that season like any other regular season of the past (lockout seasons notwithstanding since those shortened seasons were more argument-based than virus-based), I can safely say that Phoenix likely would never have gotten Chris Paul period (or at least, suspicions on him going to Phoenix over the Clippers would have raised more eyebrows than initially thought). Memphis, meanwhile, looked secure with being Seed 8 in 2020 before the Bubble changed their playoff plans in the end with Portland being insanely hot in their own right for the resumed season. The point is what we have now with the Lakers being the champions that season over the Heat is now eternal, but would the NBA Finals that year really have been the Lakers Vs. Miami for 2020 had this virus never gotten as bad as it has? That I'm not so sure of.
