Shoot Sacramento NEEDS a new freeway! Too many road cracks and holes in the street! And the freeway lanes are HORRIBLE! Looks like a 4 year old painted those lanes! You can't even tell which lane is which!
@galaxiax32843 жыл бұрын
That’s because we are still working on adding extra lanes down 5 and 99 and the lane shift on highway 50 , why would the strippers paint permanent lanes if you cannot place the buttons on the road until the project is done? Besides we added many 55 mph signs and yet nobody understands that you need to slow the hell down!!!! Be patient when the extra lanes are completed the lanes will be painted .

Freeways are a bottomless pit. When are we going to make a serious effort to end our dependency on single occupancy vehicles that serve bedroom communities (and they are largely fossil fuel dependent)? Until we take the bold and necessary steps to fight global climate change we’re just postponing the day of reckoning. And it gets harder to find solutions the longer we postpone doing something about it.

The amount of time it's going to take to build this thing, 15 - 20 years is insane! And being a government project, delays are to be expected, 25 - 30 years time is more realistic. Anyhow, what a joke! By the time they're done building this relatively short freeway, we might not need it anymore! Seriously! By then we might have already have self driving cars as the norm finally working as visualized. That means having many cars all working in sync along stretches of highway like one functional unit, eliminating traffic with no more unnecessary braking and rubber necking. Moreover, there could be less cars on the road because, for one, some people may prefer to get around in passenger drones (aka 'flying cars'). Secondly, if development efforts on the super fast and cool Hyperloop pan out, lots of people are going to want to go on that, further reducing the amount of cars on the freeway system. Don't be surprised if this proposed new freeway never gets built. This project is not even funded yet! Can you believe that? Yeah, like I said, what a joke!

34 miles of freeway in 15-20 years? If it takes 15 years, that's an average of 2.26 miles of road completed per year (or 32.78 linear feet per day). If it takes 20 years, it's an average of 1.7 miles of road completed per year (or 24.59 linear feet per day). This is a laughably slow build time! Who is in charge here....the same "brain trust" behind the high speed rail project? The funding dependent excuse ensures this will never get finished because the elected geniuses who approved this project have put the proverbial cart before the horse by attempting to build something without the all funding secured first. Not even a bond? Seriously? I'm sure no one will be held accountable for this latest Sacramento County failure in the making.
