Sacramento River Trout Fishing

Northern California's Sacramento River is the largest river system in the state and while it's known for salmon and striper runs the trout fishery in the Red Bluff and Redding area rivals that anywhere else in America.
We hopped aboard with veteran guide Mike Bogue of Mike Bogue's Guide Service to sample the fishery in June and found dozens of quality trout willing to grab BorX O Fire cured eggs and Orange Deluxe salmon eggs fished beside Glo Bugs.

@@shastamasta4696 The difference between NATIVE and HATCHERY fish? Hatchery fish have the ADIPOSE fin removed! Native Fish are HATCHERY fish that have not had the adipose fin removed! HAHA it's like fishing the lottery!

No they are local rainbows. The water in the upper stretch's of the sacramento stays cold year round so a lot of trout never even leave that stretch of water. Also when Steelhead do spawn they co mix with the local trout 40% of the time. Rainbow, Steelhead SAME fish different attitude!
